Congratulations. How are you getting along with everything? You are still on that 1st week afterward, that is either a good or rough time. Either way we are here for you!😛

Thank you!! it was a rough first week. But I am getting better. Thank you this site has been helpful. :)

Today is the first day I feel functioning. I took our golf cart down to the lake and am enjoying some tea and the views. Cold Water isn’t killing me anymore and the pain in my stomach is only dull.

I have good days and bad days. I get nauseous easily. A little sore from the incisions. But better than the first few days.

I'm finding i can have days with almost no pain or nausea then another day can be nauseous nearly all day without any big changes in what I'm eating. Is anyone else finding the same thing?

Yes. Yesterday was a turning point I thought. Washed my hair, my daughter drove me to the grocery store and I scooter around on a power chair. 😂 was happy to be out of the house. When I got home I hit a wall and just had to take pain and nausea meds. Ugh!

Oh no! I haven’t hit a wall yet and I haven’t had to deal with nausea. I’m totally going to jinx myself but I’ve actually been on the up and up. Yesterday I walked half a mile and today I walked a mile. My tennis shoes finally fit comfortable and my sports bra doesn’t feel like it’s about to impale me.

That was me today. We went to get a few groceries and had tea at our favourite cafe. Once we got home though I was exhausted and nauseous. But I'll tell you, a shower and hair washing does wonders to make you feel better, doesn't it?

I was feeling pretty good too. Yesterday went to church and then decided to go to Walmart and get a few items. Came home after and Now I feel yucky. No nausea just tired and my abdomen is itching something awful. Been scratching around my 5 incisions. But I keep getting like a stomach spasm or something. Not sure if it is a hunger pain that turns into a spasm or just a spasm. But it hurts and kinda feels like it is trying to push stuff back up esophagus. Then it passes. Then minutes later it does it again. It does it for little bit then subsides. So not sure if gas hunger or just stomach itself. Has anyone else had this?

I haven’t had that but my doctor gave me a prescription in case of spasms so it must be fairly common.

My left lower side hurts terribly today. Everything else is good but man it feels like a knife stabbing me in that lower side.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
