LapBandLova 0 Posted August 10, 2018 Hi all - 5 days post opp and the chest pain has subsided a bit! Whew. Trying to move as much as possible. I know I shouldn’t, but I hopped on the scale and only lost 2lbs since surgery! I am eating under 1000 cal a day (simply bc I can’t get down that much liquid). Is this normal? Figured I’d be down more! Thanks
kjallen 15 Posted November 2, 2018 Everyone’s body is different, try focusing on recovery instead of weight loss. By the any pounds lost is great. I am day 4 post op and I have lost 4 pounds. I had a dr appointment today, has it not been for the visit I wouldn’t be on the scale yet. I feel like I just need to focus on one thing at a time. Best wishes!! Lapband2009Stephanie 11 Posted November 8, 2018 I know that you had surgery in August, but wanted to leave a note in case someone reads this in the future w/ the same question. I know it's easy to focus on the fact that we are taking in very little, therefore, there should be weight loss. However, remember, right after surgery your body goes into an inflammatory process and is in healing mode. It needs to conserve it's energy for healing incisions, Water shifts between cells to ensure blood pressure is adequate, nevermind the fact that we have IV fluids that hydrated us and often leaves us with excess Fluid volume. First week post surgery should not be about weight loss, simply pain management and recovery
