Oceanlove 98 Posted August 6, 2018 So I’m now 7 wks post op. I have lost 54 pounds since May 26th which was the start of pre surgery diet. I lost 24 pounds pre surgery then gained 20 back due to fluids as I left hospital after 4 days in hospital post surgery. Since being out of hospital I lost everything again and lost a total of 54. So I suppose I’m just slightly disappointed that after 7 weeks I have not lost more than 30 lbs of new weight because I really don’t count the 24 pounds of weight I lost pre surgery. Where were you at at this 7-9 week post op on weight loss? 1 Frustr8 reacted to this
toodlerue 452 Posted August 6, 2018 I’m at the same place you are. My surgery was May 16th. I have only lost 25 since surgery, but 35 since Jan. That’s when my doctor counts it from. 2 Oceanlove and Frustr8 reacted to this
Skinny2018 1 Posted August 6, 2018 I had my surgery on June 22, and my weight has been stalled the last week. No weight lost. I'm only getting about 40-50 grams of Protein. I just hate the shakes. I'm not hungry at all, and trying to eat healthy - but the weight isn't going anywhere. =( 1 Oceanlove reacted to this
KimTriesRNY 1,853 Posted August 6, 2018 Most people are disappointed at their rate of weight loss and wish they could lose weight faster. Some of us have unrealistic expectations of how quickly we will lose weight postop. Many of us compare ourselves to others, but we may not know how much the other person weighed, what other conditions they had, what medications they were taking, etc. It is difficult but try to compare your progress to your past progress attempts at weight loss. For example, I am eight months out from surgery and when is the last time I have lost over 130 pounds in that time? Never. If we keep working the program we were given the process will work, it just may not be as quickly as we think it should be. 1 Oceanlove reacted to this
