You know I still struggle with what and what not to eat. My best days is oatmeal (1 Cup) for Breakfast with raisins and honey with a cup of TAZO Green Tea. Healthy huh! Then I eat really lean the rest of the day also. This goes on for a few days yet i return to my Spanish food bonanzas. Yeah I can still eat most anything especially with liquid preferably a magaritta so this has been whay it has taken me so long to lose and also what holds me up. I am posting this ticker and telling you all this in an effort to make progress. I have to stay out of these Resturaunts! :chinese

After 4 fills I sometimes feel like I should go for another yet I am reluctant because I think I am in a good place. I am capable of eating very little and going on it for a while if I choose to do so. Maybe I need to eliminate the choices huh? Isnt that why I am here in the first place? I intend to try until 4/1/05 an dif I dont make progress I will get a little adj. like .5cc. I hope I do not have to. I am very physical as in running and weightlifting yet my body fights to stay at or around 230lbs.

I know, quit whining and get to work, Anyone share this dilema?

Bobby, I'm right there with you!!! I struggle with types of food and portion size every time I eat. I have only had restriction for one week and had to fight like hell to finally get it. I feel like I could have just a tad more fill and would be at my sweet spot, but like you, I am going to give it a little time to see if I can learn how to work with what I have.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
