Are you getting enough Water in you? Try the Protein Shake that is a Meal Replacement that helped me curve the hunger. Because I can not have soy I got the band called Garden of Life.

Congratulations @ Liz C on being 10 days out, 22 days since my RNY and I also am in a learning curve. My surgeon wanted to start me,on Stage 3 at 6 days, maybe many of his bypasses are ready, me and my pouch were not. We are still Stage 2, although,i was going to attempt again at 4 weeks I think Precious Pouch and I will wait until next Dr Needleman visit,on October 9th, envied your honey &yogurt story , PP even rebelled at that, she has an elevator fixation " Everything going back UP!" , liquids, strained Soups , even low sodium V8 she will put up with, anything thicker, so is not always with the program. My worry, and do we always have at least one? 1 I'm still swollen in there 2 She doesn't even want to expand to hold 2-3 oz 3 I may have a slight structure of my stoma opening between pouch and intestine and all. But as long as I remember WHO,is running things she can be a benevolent despot. She doesn't realize the summit conference coming up, where Dr Needleman reminds her he made het, I own her, and if she doesn't behave herself, I go sleepy bye, they run and EGD tube down, look around, blow her up with air, or put a balloon catheter in her stoma and stretch it. But something will be done! Time for her to get down of her "high horse"! The good news I have lost 18 pounds in 3 weeks, I just want the good times to roll!

I’m doing ok. Feel like I did 500 sit-ups at once. I was having a lot of trouble getting my fluids down yesterday but I think today will be better. I was sent home with a soaker catheter for incision pain, and I had to remove that myself yesterday...NOT fun.

How about you?

I'm doing better today. I felt the same way yesterday, fluids were making me gag . One thing is I get really nauseous but don't throw up. I just had some chamomile tea and luckily I was able to tolerate it today. I hope this day continues to go smoothly.

Hi all, I became a “sleever” two days ago in Dublin, Ireland. I didn’t stick to the pre-op diet but the surgeon thankfulky wasn’t too concerned and let me go ahead. The operation itself went well but I was in a lot more pain than I expected immediately after it and since - particularly around the wound site which makes it difficult to walk. Luckily I’ve had no nausea and seem to be tolerating foods ok. Yesterday my surgeon had me on a Protein Drinks only diet and today I’m on soft foods including Weetabix, scrambled eggs etc - all going down fine so far with no nausea. The biggest struggle has been getting enough fluids but I don’t seem to be alone in that. The best news has been that in the time since the surgery my blood sugars have already dropped from 12 to 5.9 which is the lowest they’ve been for years. I know I’ve a long way to go but I’m delighted that at the very least I’ve joined the journey with you all!

I am 1 week post-op today. Down 7.2 pounds since surgery (not counting the Water weight I gained in the hospital and had to lose to get to pre-op weight). So I'm feeling good about that. Really trying hard to NOT compare my weight loss to anyone else's. I know my journey is my own, whether or not we've had the same surgery. Aside from that I'm feeling good. Bored at home, trying to keep moving to avoid clots. Have to give myself another week of injections (Lovenox) which I absolutely hate, but don't want a clot. My left major incision hurts when I try to lay on it still, but I can sleep comfortably on my right side so I've been back in my bed for a couple nights now. My drain incision has been bugging me a bit lately, but that drain removal the day after surgery was literally more painful than the rest of this. Per surgeons orders, I am back on my pre-op diet again until 1 month post-op to allow my stomach a chance to really heal. The only change is that we are allowed watery cream of wheat and watery oatmeal. Yesterday I tried Cream of Wheat and that wasn't good. Felt majorly gritty going down and caused diarrhea. I'll try that again in about a week or so. I really, really want refried Beans with cheese and salsa and sour cream. I feel like I'll be able to eat that for every meal. Overall, I'm so glad I did this. I would be lying if I said I wasn't wondering why I didn't participate in some Mukbang before I did this though. I'm sort of mourning the fact that I won't be able to eat those large portions again. But at the same time, love that I can't. I've been wanting to be a "sleever" with a tiny tummy and a tiny portioned meal for a long time, and I'm finally here. I guess i t won't fully feel real until I try eating regular foods again. But I am going to a restaurant for the first time today, and I'm going to order French onion Soup and ask for no bread or croutons and no cheese and then I'll just drink the broth. I can live a normal life even when on the liquid part of my diet.

I am 1 week post op also from the endoscopic sleeve. Lost 11 lb since surgery and 16 lb overall including the pre op 2 day liquid diet. Surprised the heck out of me! Anyhow....I did the eating out thing yesterday and like you, I sipped on the broth of some amazing chicken noodle Soup. My husband had a coupon for 2 free buffets for the casino we went to so no damage done $$ wise either! Felt proud that I could walk into that temptation and still stick to it!

That’s fantastic Lynn! I agree it feels great to take charge of ourselves and not allow that food to take us over! Yay!

1 Week today.... well not till 4:00pm today, but close enough....

down 15lbs in the week. yesterday was the 1st day that I felt almost normal. I have been taking my Protein, and my fluids, the gas pain has pretty much left, but hey moving along.

Sitting here drinking my Isopure, getting ready to start my 2nd week of clear fluids. What I wouldn't do for a bowl of Tomato Soup.

Hope all the other September losers are having a good go at it.

Hi to All my Sleeved brothers and sisters. Down 23 pounds at 4 weeks, still on Stage 2, on October. 12 I have a follow-up EGD to see why Precious does not want to accept thickers and pureed, swelling should be down so stricture? She is happy with the limited diet but I may😟 die with cream of mushroom breath.🍄

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
