So I was told that natural butter was better to use than say....margarine. And I haven't had any issues so far. But I read to avoid it. Though I thought butter, real butter, was better to grease a pan for say, eggs, rather than processed stuff like in margarine.

Thoughts?

Butter is better than margarine in that it does not possess partial hydrogenated oils. Some natural styled oil spreads now gave cold presses or expeller pressed oils. After WLS, depending how far out you are, your choice of fat will vary. Consult your team, stick to your plan and always use the least possible, unless its free truffle butter... Then use it all lol

What about sprays? Havn't used it much but it's what I used to cook my scrambled eggs week 2. Guess I should look at the label........

I've recently had success cutting down on saturated animal fats (for health reasons only - I love butter for god's sake!) I really enjoy the way my eggs taste now. I use a great non-stick skillet, rub the entire surface with a dash of olive oil before heating, then add a teaspoon of butter just before cooking the eggs. A great pan is key!

yes read the labels carefully, some sprays have other things in them too like propellants, a lot of companies are trying to remove questionable ingredients though...

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
