Has anyone needed to do a dialation after RNY? I am having a lot of trouble with vomiting and my surgeon is recommending endoscopic surgery to look into it.

Hi. I had a stricture. I just had a dilation last Thursday. I was dilated to 2 cms. I should mention that i had the sleeve done, not RNY. I like you, couldn't keep anything down. I was sleeved on 6/11.

How far out were you from the surgery for RNY

I had my surgery 6/11/18. I can get liquids down but some soft foods, usually meats, are coming back up.

I had an endoscopy yesterday and they did see mild stenosis so they dilated a little.

The good news is my staples are healed!

Unfortunately looks like I’ll be back for another this week.

Coupled with a 3 week stall I am no happy RNY camper.

And I hope the Stenosis Fairy did not whack me with her wand, but I am convinced in my mind I have a stricture. Finished up my Sunday emesis , all because I tried to chew up a saltine. I chewed, I chewed, it seemed so smooth and pasty, but Precious wasn't fooled. And I had a miserable hour of barf and slimies and belchs. But things are now peaceful and I think I can keep down beef Bone Broth. Precious temporarily quiet And actually I kind of like the broth, soon be all gone and then I'll go to either chicken one or the vegan veggie one from Wal-Mart. The bone broth does fill my needs now, That and maybe cream of 🍄 my favorites. Haven't yet tried them all from Campbell, really do perfer my own. Didnt bother with spoonfuls, just use a 2 oz cup and sip slowly.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
