Preparing for the dead😮

Recommended Posts

So I’m preparing for surgery , my date is August 6. Yeseterday I went shopping and purchased things I will need at the hospital , as well as things I will need once I return from the hospital. Since I started this journey I’ve started routine workouts and I’ve done really well I have been able to drop 35 lbs, My concern is shortly after surgery my exercise routine will be reduced , and waking will be the only thing I can do for a while. Just wanting to know how long did you guys need to wait before you started cardio, stairs , fast pace walks. Please let me know ,smooches ♥️

Post op, just follow your surgeon's orders. Walking is going to be pretty much the second you fully wake up from surgery until... well forever. You'll get cleared for extra things as you heal. Focus on healing first. Keep that cart firmly planted BEHIND the horse!

Lol that through me too! But if your on the phone just hold your finger down on the paragraph and it will show a pop up and let you edit, or on computer click edit.

But any who congrats on the upcoming surgery you will do great, I’m scheduled for September 7, 2018 excited. As far as the question although, I haven’t had the surgery I think you should check with your surgeon on this because everyone’s doctors are different and do different things.

First off I just wanted to congratulate you on the click bait lol, very smooth and effective, haha.

Second, you will do great. Being in shape prior to surgery helps some people bounce back to a regime quickly, but if not no worries go at the pace your body dictates. I was not in shape prior to surgery and i waited until 4 months post op to join a gym. I'm still just a novice and I work out lightly. Do what is best for you AFTER surgery.

Safe Journey!

I have the same concern. I’ve been working out pretty frequently, but walking doesn’t seem too bad

Just had surgery the 23rd. Hit 10,000 steps a day on day 10. It's more the energy to do more. I really don't have anything left after that. I was fairly active before so I really am looking forward to doctors giving me the green light.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
