Does anyone still get sick from drinking plain Water? I’m about 6 weeks out and whenever I drink water it makes me very nauseous.

I personally never did get sick from water. But I know LOTS of people have, some of which still can't drink plain water. Try adjusting the temp if you haven't, some folks can't do cold, some can't do hot, some can't do unflavored. Experiment to find out what works for you, but it is pretty common for folks to have "texture" or "flavor" issues with water.

I am about 7 weeks post op and just last weekend I was finally able to drink plain water without feeling sick. It came after an extremely hard workout and the flavored water made me nauseous and I drank regular without issue! Definitely try different temps (room temperature to slightly cool works best for me, cold is a no go lol)

I do, not necessarily plain Water but type of water. Low quality water I cannot tolerate. The more mineral enhanced, foreign, alkaline, etc. the better for me. No clue why. I jokingly said that I have a celebrity sleeve. Lol. Try different types of waters.

I haven’t been able to tolerate plain Water since I was sleeved on July 10th. Makes me very nauseous. I have to use crystal light to flavor or it will come back up.

odd but believable, "everything old is new again", think there was an old song with that as its lyrics!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
