I am two months post-op with the sleeve. Getting all my Protein, but carbs are hard to get unless I drink Gatorade everyday. I feel like I'd rather eat healthy carbs. How are you getting 40 grams of carbs?

This is odd, carbs are in *almost* everything (except pure animal meat sources, pure vegetable fat sources) What are you consuming daily? Can you give examples of your diet?

Some days I don’t get 40 carbs. I don’t stress about it.

Some days I’m a bit over, usually if I have oatmeal for Breakfast which is about once a week. Most of my carbs seem to come from my yogurt and things like Beans that may be in Soups I make.

Wait, what? I never knew there was a minimum carb goal? Is this pretty common on most plans?

There is almost nothing in common on most plans except Protein and hydration being top tier in importance...

I do have one more nutrition appointment before my surgery on the 28th. I need to ask about it if its not brought up. I know they want the carbs we do consume to be from produce and legumes mainly, but had no idea there may be a minimum amount.

I second that. This is the first I've heard of consuming any amount of carbs as in a specific number. Maybe the further along I get my NUT will mention it. Is it a part maintenance?

My nutritionist says 40-50 grams of carbs and 60-80 grams of Protein.

I have an Atkins shake for breakfast, 2-3 ounces of protein and 1/2 cup of salad at lunch, and Atkins shake in the afternoon, and 2-4 ounces of protein and 1/2 cup of veggies at dinner, plus a sugar free popsicle for a snack. That means I still need the 12 ounces of Gatorade to get all my carbs.

I drink Pure Protein shakes that come in a can. There are 35 grams of protein per can and I drink two a day. I have vanilla Cream and Frosty chocolate.

Isn't regular Gatorade pure sugar? So your remaining carbs come from sugar? That feels / seems like empty calories

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
