Walk as much as possible! It's the best way to get the gas moving out. The incisions just have to heal. If they bother you when moving, try using a small pillow to splint, or apply pressure, when getting up or sitting down.

Thank you!!! I’ve been trying to get up as much as possible since it’s the only thing that seems to help. Besides this is grateful that for now I can keep my fluids down without feeling sick it’s been a big help

Do the incisions hurt without movement or when you flex your abdomen in any way? If the latter, hold a pillow against yourself.

.

... As an aside, as I write this I am in a gym parking lot and on my list of weights this evening are hoist abdominal crunches at 205 lbs for 36 reps total... So don't worry, it'll go away eventually then you can look forward to post workout pains.

Sometimes for example when I’m sleeping the smallest movements even if it’s tilting a little it causes it to hurt that’s when I would take a pain med and it would relax the pain for some time but its getting better everyday that passes

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
