wjgo 272 Posted July 27, 2018 How much does muscle gain impact weight loss?I am weight training 5-6 days a week on a 3 muscle group cycle. Also training for a 5K and my intervals are getting faster and easier. I have been steadily increasing my weights in all muscle areas. And, I am also on a weight loss stall that I can't explain much, so that makes me wonder.Edit: On my phone, and I thought I put this in the fitness group.Sent from my XT1609 using BariatricPal mobile app
jess9395 5,449 Posted July 27, 2018 When we break down muscle to build it up (what happens with weight training) the body retains Water as part of the process so that can definitely come into play. But we also get hungrier when we are training (runners call it the “rungries”). So if you don’t track your food you might want to try doing that to just make sure you aren’t eating more and that that isn’t part of it.
wjgo 272 Posted July 27, 2018 I have been tracking my food. Nothing has changed except taking in much more Water, but the water started before this stall. Only ever had two minor post-op stalls, so maybe it's my time.Sent from my XT1609 using BariatricPal mobile app
wjgo 272 Posted July 27, 2018 I have been weight training for a while, so I thought I would have stabilized with the water/muscle building. Sent from my XT1609 using BariatricPal mobile app
