Matt Z 4,139 Posted July 26, 2018 Congrats on your surgery! It always amazes me reading stories like this, you'd figure the nursing staff would know better. 2 Frustr8 and Wanda247 reacted to this

Frustr8 7,886 Posted July 26, 2018 @ newme,in fla, that is curious reaction from that nurse, maybe she thought you were doing this for cosmetic reasons? Well you know what brought you there, what you are hoping to lessen or end influence in your life and what your final goal is. I would say that makes you 3 times as smart as her! Rachel8858 5 Posted July 26, 2018 Yeah isn’t crazy the stuff staff can say!!! Congratulations on your surgery! My spouse just had it on Tuesday but had to stay in the hospital last night again, can’t barely keep Water down and very nauseous. So when the day nurse brought in the evening nurse to introduce her to us she asked (while my spouse was dry heaving mind you) so do you think you’ll be able to go home later tonight? My reaction are you kidding me?! Can’t get any liquids. I can’t believe the nurse even asked that question!! If sent home would be back in er or hospital in a few days dehydrated dumb dumb!!! Another fine example of they should know better! 1 Frustr8 reacted to this
J San 1,071 Posted July 26, 2018 I would not have been so nice. It's not anyone's but your surgeons place to say something like that. Good for you for staying calm and hats off to your husband for keeping you there. Good luck on your recovery!!! 1 Frustr8 reacted to this
AggiG 176 Posted July 27, 2018 Your nurse had no right saying the things she said to you. She is not your doctor or a "DOCTOR!!" Should have said something to your surgeon.
BarrySue 602 Posted July 27, 2018 As a nurse, I CRINGE hearing that. As medical professionals, we need to stay in our own lane, know when to speak, when to listen, and when things are none of our business. She is supposed to be a supportive presence, not a demoralizing one. 1 Frustr8 reacted to this
