photogirl70 142 Posted July 25, 2018 I'm looking for recommendations for scales. If I go by the one in my bathroom, it changes every time I move it. I know it reads off for me. I came home from my last appt. and my weight show 215. I moved it and it showed 222. The doc had me at 243. My husband never has issues with it. 1 Creekimp13 reacted to this

Some scales can be very picky to movements. I know my FitBit Aria doesn't like to be moved at all, and when I do, I have to take 5 measurements in a row so it can calibrate. Some scales don't handle higher weights as well as low. And I'm going to get some flak for this, but I'm very found of having body fat % measurements as well, yes I know they aren't 100% accurate, but neither is weight. But by having the fat measurements, even just for trend tracking, have been very helpful when dealing with stalls. I've gained weight and lost body fat so many times at this point that without knowing I'm dropping body fat, I would have lost my mind with the gains. 1 Frustr8 reacted to this
lex2287 98 Posted July 25, 2018 I got my scale off of amazon.. the brand is RENPHO. The best and most accurate I have found.. plus it has an app for your phone and syncs to most fitness trackers. It was like $30 on Amazon. 2 Jingle123423 and Frustr8 reacted to this
allwet 868 Posted July 25, 2018 look on Amazon and choose 4 stars or above. then look at weight limit- go with 350 or higher - never choose one that you nearly max out. then look at dimensions get a Large one look at bottom get biggest "feet" that are as far apart as you can see as for features i use a scale and a tape measure- nothing else matters- is my weight going down is my gut shrinking thats it Lastly never compare home weights with other scales. It does not matter if the numbers are different what matters is if the numbers at home show a decrease over time. 1 Frustr8 reacted to this
ChaosUnlimited 559 Posted July 25, 2018 It matters if your floor is level also. My bathroom floor is very uneven, thanks to my husbands attempt at doing our own tile job, and having the scale on an uneven floor makes it completely inaccurate. I have one spot that I can set the scale to weigh on, I had to get a scale with a base smaller than my 12"x12" tiles so it would fit on the one that is level without hanging off, lol. 2 Creekimp13 and Jingle123423 reacted to this

Creekimp13 5,840 Posted July 26, 2018 I have three scales. LOL. They sit in a row, and I hop on all of them once a week. After I weigh in at the doctor, I write on them with sharpie maker... +4 pounds, -2 pounds, +3 pounds (compared to what the doctor's scale said)....and of course, this changes each time I go to the doctor! The super fantastic scale at the gym also gets documented with how "off" my scales are. I know the general ballpark within a couple pounds if I kinda average it out and eyeball it. Two of my scales weigh a little light, one weighs a little heavy. The doctor's office and the gym don't even agree (have gone within and hour of each other with no fluids or pee breaks)....but it's all within a couple of pounds...so....meh. LOL I'm not sure we ever know what we really weigh. LOL. The important thing is to watch the trend, and make sure it's moving in the right direction:) 1 Frustr8 reacted to this
Miss_Tee 56 Posted July 26, 2018 Is anyone experiencing hip and back pain. I currently 3 months and 3 week post-surgery. For the last few weeks, my back and hips have been causing unbearable pain. Could this be related to the surgery?Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app 1 Frustr8 reacted to this
J San 1,071 Posted July 26, 2018 I have the same problem with my POS scale. It will sit in the same spot for days and when it decides to not play nice it just reads ridiculously low or the number steadily scroll and gives me no reading. I want one them old school scales with the two weights that slide across the bar. Put it on zero when you are off of it and you know it's accurate. Or at least probably more accurate than the digital ones. 1 Frustr8 reacted to this

I'm in LOVE with my new scale. I got it off Amazon. It does Body weight, Body fat, Water, musle mass, visceral fat, BMI, and BMR. It syncs with your phone and its great for tracking history. The name is 1byone Bluetooth Body Fat Scale. The cost is $29.99. (someone here recommended it, wish I could give credit to them!) 1 Matt Z reacted to this

From about 1.5 to 2 months until around 3.5 months (a little bit still but it's mostly gone) My hips were KILLING me.. like the outside area of the hip joint region. My back just started out of nowhere a few weeks back, more 1 side than the other. Lots of muscle, joint and tendon changes happening as we lose weight, lots of folks don't realize that fat isn't just below the skin, it's around all our muscles, tendons, bones, ligaments, etc as protection and a buffer. So as we lose this visceral fat, things shift around more, that's one of the reasons why working out is important, because it tightens up those lose connections that are pressing on nerves causing the pain. 1 domi reacted to this

Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app I have back problems as is, but I've noticed my butt hurts a lot when I sit for long periods of time. I work a desk job and I frequently find myself rotating back and forth between my hips to find a comfy position. I'm thinking a donut cushion will be in my near near future. Also, I can't hardly sit on my front stoop anymore. The second I sit down, I feel every bone in my butt. I never had a very cushy behind, but now its just flat as a board. 1 Frustr8 reacted to this
