I feel a pressure in my upper chest when I’m full. My family’s joke is that I’ve had “one bite too many” as I frequently get the hiccups after eating.

You won't feel full on liquids or mushy foods. You simply stop when you feel satisfied.

Solid foods are a whole nother story, especially Protein. You will quickly learn what full feels like.

Fullness sensations differ, and my not really be there, for a while after surgery as some nerves have been cut, stomach can be swollen and the normal bit of stretch that is normally detected to start signalling fullness may not be there. And, you often don't really feel "full" on liquidy things as they usually aren't staying in the stomach that long. Things return to semi-normal after a while but in the mean time, it is best to measure what you eat so that you don't overfill things. Your stomach is probably around 2 oz in nominal capacity, so stick with that for more solid foods; liquids and semi-liquids slide on through more easily so more can be consumed, but you have to experiment with it (I was able to sip through a bowl of broth, prob 6-8 oz - and a box of juice in a meal sitting in the hospital, while my wife could barely go through her nominal stomach size of 4 oz - both within normal expectations.

Our overall program rule was to try new foods one at a time to test them for tolerance, and if they didn't settle well, then go back to what you know and try that food again in a week or two, then try another new food at the next meal, if desired.

I still don't feel "Full" like ever. I do get to a point where I'm just done. It's an odd sensation really, nothing physical exactly... but when I'm done... I'm just done. Not 100% sure why that is, could be the band to bypass revision, not sure. But it's amazing how much everyone differs with their sensations.

I’m still confused if I’m hungry, have gas, or just sore. I’m three days out and I’m just following the meal plan my nutritionist gave me. So far so good.

Day 4 post op and liquids are going well. I've never really felt "full" in my life, so have nothing to compare it to. That's a bit of a lie, I did feel full when I was on Saxenda for weight loss. I definitely can't eat quickly, I thought it would be hard to only eat 2oz in 30 minutes, but I'm finding it takes me 45 min sometimes.

I feel like I always hungry! POST OP 47 Days. I consulted my Doctor about the upper chest hurts vs. feeling full. She told me it is because the stomach sits higher. But ask your doctor. I keep a list of what I am going to ask on monthly visits.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
