Lately I feel like rage is simmering under the surface. I get angry a lot easier then I used to. I can still control it in the sense that I'm not giving anyone the beatdown, all though I've yelled at a few people. But I'm concerned because I feel like I hate everyone. That everyone is an A-hole. And I'm joining their ranks. I'm not sure If it's just the surgery and weight loss. I do have a couple of other issues I'm dealing with. Is this happening to anyone else? Will it go away?

will it just go away..... probably not.

lots if not most of use have some type of emotional issues that make weight loss more difficult.

the surgery makes the weight loss easier but does not address the emotional issues that hang around even if the weight goes away.

some of use used food to deal with those issues even if we didn't realize it and when the food is taken away we are at a loss as how to handle those emotions.

seek out a counselor that understands or works with WLS if you can.

Even just a few visits to help you learn new coping strategies could go a long way to making you enjoy more of your new life.

post op is a mental game, if your not winning get some help.

Could be hormonal flux, hanger, mild dehydration (don't count this out) Vitamin & mineral imbalance, medication interactions, Sexual frustration, etc. or everyone you know finally deserves a piece of your mind (boldness)
Speak with your team, they may have resources to help you before you burn all of your bridges.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
