I’ve heard flat out wraps are a great alternative for people is vsg who want to eat something like a sammich or a burrito. But why exactly is it a great alternative. I just wanna know what I should be looking for when shopping for something like wraps to eat.

Fiber one sells wraps that are a whole 80 calories a wrap. They are decently sized and taste great. I think the idea is to look for low fat, low carb, low calorie options. The lower you can get all those numbers, the better.

Found this site, has a huge listing of wraps, clicking on the types brings you to a nutritional panel as well as a "how much would it take to burn this off" section!

Flat out Light... is high Protein, high fiber, low cal.

They don't taste too bad:)

I like to wrap up some turkey bacon, avocado, Tomato and lettuce in them.

High protein can be helpful for getting your protein in.

High fiber helps you poo...and helps grow a good gut microbiome

They're whole wheat...which is metabolized slower than white flour and doesn't cause hunger spikes. Better glycemic index:)

I found some tortillas at the store that have 14 g of fiber per tortilla.

I love the ancient grains flat out Protein fold its. I put 1.5 oz of turkey and 1 thin slice of cheddar on it and it’s 10 g carbs and 20something Protein. I can’t eat the whole thing so it gets broken up into two meals.

I love them because they’re low carb- only 10 grams I think for the fold it, high protein variety- I was a huge sandwich person before surgery so these are a great alternative for a post surgery lifestyle. The carbs are low, the calories are low. They don’t taste awful and you can toast them! I toasted one and added a tablespoon of Peanut Butter to it for Breakfast and it was amazing.

I like La Tortilla Factory - Low Carb Tortillas (Traditional Flour). It tastes identical to a regular flour tortilla.

Thank you for posting this. I tried a low carb wrap about two months ago and I couldn't finish two bites. I put scrambled eggs in it. It was a low carb wrap, I forgot the brand but it wasn't soft but rather hard.

The whole wheat version has an unpleasant aftertaste.

Hey everyone. I tried this wrap today. It was actually good. I put two ounces of sliced chicken breast, fat free ranch, and some lettuce. I actually ate the whole thing. I feel guilty because I am trying to stay low carb so yeah, I am scared of food.

90 cals

15 carbs.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
