My Breakfast today:

1 egg over easy

1 Trader Joe’s breakfast sausage link

some cheese

1 low carb tortilla

I didn’t really like the tortilla so I ended up eating only 1/4 of it but ate everything else.

It's been a while since I posted but tonight's dinner: 230 grams of chicken shawarma/baba gnoush bowl from Naf Naf grill and an over medium egg. Sometimes I'm low-key astounded that I used to be able to eat the entire bowl (4 or 5 servings now) in one sitting.20190506_191417.jpeg 20190506_201023.jpeg

Marks and Sparks (Marks and Spencer to the US crew) chicken Balti. 100g out of the full thing (3.5ish oz) with chicken shredded and 7g Light Philadelphia to take some heat out. No leftovers.

Microwaves in 3.5 mins. Perfect addition to my can’t be a%*ed meal portfolio :-)IMG_0473.jpg IMG_0472.jpg

I love seeing energy kcal on labels! I know the poster possibly lives abroad/outside the US and reminds me what the rest of the world thinks food is all about

In the UK and so glad I have all this nutrition info to rely on as well as the tight food standards underlying it. Reason number 99999999 why I think we would be mad to follow through with Brexit!

Vegan Northern Indian Samosa Chat,

2 potato samosa w/ chickpea masala & various toppings (tamarind & mint yogurt sauces, parsley, rice crunchies- forgot to say no to all of these 😩)

I *needed* stuff from the store and the cafeteria is in back

After only... Only ate 1/3.

Completely full & very spicy 😍

Yes its just the more scientific categorization of it

What is the difference between calories and kilocalories?

  • The "calorie" we refer to in food is actually kilocalorie. One (1) kilocalorie is the same as one (1) Calorie (upper case C). A kilocalorie is the amount of heat required to raise the temperature of 1 kilogram of Water one degree Celsius. Please visit USDA's Nutrient Data Laboratory for additional information.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
