Need to nip this in the bud. This is a good idea. Cereal. Try to reach out for a Protein with fibers + fruit. Any other suggestions that have helped you or anyone else?! Finding this holiday season especially challenging with too many indulgences... Oh boy. I can resist pecan pie. Just not a favorite. But any fruit pie, doughnut, breads, pastry, cake or chocolate LOOK OUT! Yeah, i love me some Desserts too. I think I started wanting them for reals again around 2 yrs post op. I can still be satisfied with just a couple bites so thats good…plus my tendency to dump keeps me sorta in check. I’m a big proponent of keeping an eye on calories…so long as total daily calories stays at or below maintenance levels, then the desserts are all good so long as one’s labs are also all good (but that’s just me…this strategy may not work for all). If limited bites wont satisfy you or lead u down a slippery slope, you can try (1) full abstinence, - if u can - so you can get the sugar out of ur system and cravings will dull a bit, or (2) delayed gratification: when the craving comes, commit to waiting 1 hr before eating. If u still want it, go ahead. But u may find after an hour you may not want it anymore. YMMV. Btw, Miss u, sophie! As well as the others who where regulars on here a year or 2 ago. I guess its just the way it is as we get further out… Edited November 25, 2021 by ms.sss 2 Arabesque and GreenTealael reacted to this
ms.sss 15,719 Posted November 25, 2021 Salad! Painstakingly mise-en-placed this baby then settled in to watch the latest Bond movie. Ate the 5 peices pork belly (40g) and a forkful of the crab salad and I was DONE. Pork continues to be a super-stomach-filler for me. Which is a good thing because I love roasted pork belly. AND a bad thing cuz I love roasted pork belly 😂 Had I eaten the whole thing (which i most certainly did not…even though i really wanted to!) it would have been 589 calories. Will tackle the rest later. 2 GreenTealael and Arabesque reacted to this

I don’t think my sweet tooth truly ever went away but dumping curtails many shenanigans. But I also go through food phases. I’ll love something for 2 months then never want to see it again. 😂 I tend to share all Desserts with others or “buffer” dessert with a vegetable intensive or low calorie meal. Honestly it does as much for me mentally as calorically. I need chocolate on a monthly basis. Let me know if you find a solution! 3 Lynnlovesthebeach, Arabesque and ms.sss reacted to this

ms.sss 15,719 Posted December 9, 2021 This is why i log everything i eat. Calories add up quickly, man. This smallish breakfast sandwich is a surprising 511 calories. Ate the extra cheese and egg on the side and a little less than half the sandwich. If it doesn’t get too soggy, i’ll eat the rest later (this bread is quite filling) 3 Arabesque, GreenTealael and Starwarsandcupcakes reacted to this
Starwarsandcupcakes 2,070 Posted December 9, 2021 (edited) 2 hours ago, ms.sss said: 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤 *makes list of ingredients to buy to bake cookies* These ones are SO easy to make! I followed this recipe but used 1Tbsp vanilla instead of the other extracts and flavorings, swapped 1/2 cup of flour for cocoa powder, added 3Tbsp of Water (as the dough was crumbly for my climate) and folded/kneaded in 1 1/2 cups milk chocolate chips to half the dough (I split it to make 2 kinds of cookies). The recipe makes a LOT of Cookies (5 dozen!) if using a small cookie scoop. I also used the same recipe with the 1tbsp vanilla swap and 3Tbsp water to make the blossoms, wreaths and the peppermint hot chocolate cookies. (Multi purpose for the win!) You could easily swap the sugar in this for a sugar substitute as well.
