It’s my first before and after! Sleeve performed 10-17-18

1 oz moist chicken (cooked in the crockpot with cream of mushroom Soup. When chicken is tender but before overcooked I took it out and cut/shredded it. When plated I topped with a spoonful of the mushroom Soup cooking liquid)

.5 oz egg salad. Pretty standard recipe but with local jalapeño relish rather than regular pickle. So good.

Finished with a sprinkling of volcanic sea salt.

OK. So what is your standard recipe for egg salad because my standard recipe is boiled eggs and mayo. I have never had it any other way. Where does relish play into it. I love spicy so would love to try the jalepeno.

Found a yummy recipe that i want to try i though i would share. You can make it very adaptable by switching up the ingredients for vegetarians, or your food tolerance or preferences.

Here's mine. A girl on another board is famous for her Egg salad With Cottage cheese and EBTB Spice. It's so good. And I made my own verion. I never really measure stuff--so it changes each time, I just plop it on the scale and record the macros ingredients instead. So one time it might be 16g of "this" and the next time if the spoon is bigger, it might be 20g...you know?

Sorry no pics, but the tuna in the celeray was close to it, just omit the tuna.

For me, egg salad is the same base as potato salad only without the potatoes

-diced boiled eggs

- mayo

-mustard

-pickle Relish

-s&P

-paprika

-dill.

I usuallt eyeball it. I would say for 4 eggs I used about a tablespoon of mayo. In my most recent version I added a heaping teaspoon of cream cheese and a heaping teaspoon of jalapeño relish. The end result should be held together but not too liquidy, with the eggs the star.

I am officially 2 weeks post op, so I’m being more creative in my soft foods and went to one of my favorite restaurants.

I ordered a la Carte. 1 side refried Beans, one shredded chicken taco, one side of guac. Then I made my little plate with beans, some of the chicken, and about a tablespoon of guac total.

Here is my before and after

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
