summerset 5,265 Posted August 10, 2020 Second portion of this is for lunch tomorrow. The other two portions of plain noodles - I guess I will fry green cabbage again and carrots and maybe some frozen wok vegetable mix and mix everything with a lemony sate sauce I have at home. 1 GreenTealael reacted to this

That sounds really good, does the Pasta have the same texture as regular pasta?

No, it's more chewy but I like that a lot. In fact I prefer bean pasta over regular. However, I only like the Explore brand, the rest can take a hike. I have no idea what Explore is doing differently, but they know their bean pasta for sure. The Aldi edamame, black soybean & soybean pastas are all pretty good. And that’s coming from someone who’s fairly intolerant of most healthy substitute type products. 1 GreenTealael reacted to this

Meh, I want the same ALDI/Trader Joe's assortment in Germany's ALDI markets. Neither ALDI Nord nor ALDI Süd have decent bean Pasta. The one one can get at ALDI Süd was like 🤢, exactly as the other brands I tried, never seen them at ALDI Nord. What I've seen from the website is that the brand in the US is a different one. Doesn't seem to be only a different name because the pasta also looks different. Maybe Explore has a deal with ALDI in the US. 1 GreenTealael reacted to this

I haven’t tried them side by side, but my taste memory is that they are the same (only the Aldi brand is much, much cheaper) 1 GreenTealael reacted to this

The ones I saw at a German ALDI looked different from the Explore ones. However, it's been awhile. Maybe something changed. 1 GreenTealael reacted to this

From what I know of the food mfg industry, and how Aldi works, I doubt there is much if any coordination on item manufacturing between the US and Germany. 1 GreenTealael reacted to this

Cheeseburgh 3,080 Posted August 11, 2020 I still can’t believe @sillykitty had to tell me that Aldi’s corporate hq is in my town. I didn’t think anything was based here! 2 sillykitty and GreenTealael reacted to this
Cheeseburgh 3,080 Posted August 11, 2020 I made chicken tacos tonight, I’m getting really good at homemade tortillas! I’m about 2/3 of the way through this and need to take a break. I haven’t eaten a lot today, so I plan on finishing this! 4 Double_Me, ms.sss, MarvelGirl25 and 1 other reacted to this
