Kris77 1,538 Posted October 22, 2024 VERY hard to cut. I cut a few slices (cook faster)-cut seeds out- Put a little butter on, cook in oven, then finish w brown sugar, bake a little longer til melted. Yummy goodness. So good 1 GreenTealael reacted to this
summerseeker 2,241 Posted October 22, 2024 Will seriously need to try the sweet recipes. i swear I can smell it cooking with a sugary, buttery, cinnamon mix on it. I have never heard of / eaten squashes this way. Its always savory here. Always in Soups or roasted. 1 GreenTealael reacted to this

GreenTealael 25,430 Posted October 24, 2024 Some food from my road trip: Classic (tourist trap 😀) burger and fries in Arizona. This became my only meal split throughout the day. I loved it. Flan and butter bundt cake with local tea selections (😊) in New Mexico. I barely ate any because it was a super sweet dumpling risk but I really like flan. 7 sillykitty, Starwarsandcupcakes, Chatterboxdea and 4 others reacted to this

Chatterboxdea 202 Posted October 24, 2024 I make a roasted acorn squash last night with chicken for my husband and I and he really liked them. I went the more savory route. My dad makes a stuffed acorn squash recipe that is delicious but might need to be tweaked for newer surgery patients (like me), but I thought I would share since they seem to be a big hit! 4 GreenTealael, sillykitty, Arabesque and 1 other reacted to this

FILIPINO LECHE FLAN: INGREDIENTS 10 room temperature egg yolks ( i usually use the unused egg whites to make a palvova or almond Cookies or macarons) 1 can condensed milk 1 can evaporated milk 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional) 1 tsp fresh lime juice 1/2 cup sugar DIRECTIONS: Preheat oven to 350 melt sugar in bottom of pans whisk egg yolks add condensed milk, stir until combined add evaporated milk, vanilla and optional lime & mix well (slowly so no air bubbles) pour mixture through cheesecloth or sieve to remove any undissolved bits pour into pans tap the pans onto hard surface to remove any bubbles cover pans loosely with foil put pans into a roasting pan then fill roasting pan with Water until reaches halfway up the flan pans bake 35-40 mins until set (firm but still jiggly) let cool and put in fridge for at least 3 hours remove from pan by placing a plate on top and carefully flipping over to release to goodness lol 3 GreenTealael, sillykitty and Arabesque reacted to this
