ms.sss 15,718 Posted October 3, 2024 ok. so i love bacon. and i mean, i LOVE bacon. i buy it by the case from costco Business Store and add it to basically everything, and i save the rendered bacon fat and use it for frying stuff (don't judge me!!! lol) anyway, the big ongoing debate at my house is "how cooked should bacon be"? i like my bacon crispy (almost burnt! ha!), while Mr. like it less cooked and more chewy. i often have to take out his bacon from the oven so i can continue cooking mine, geez. see my preferred bacon doneness below. so what are YOU? Team CRISPY? or Team CHEWY??? 4 Chatterboxdea, GreenTealael, Arabesque and 1 other reacted to this

And there’s nothing wrong with expensive groceries. If I could afford real crab and dry aged steaks I’d definitely be eating those. Instead I just work with what I’ve got. What makes me jealous is the price at some stores in the UK. 😭 The one time I did I mock shop (virtual cart that I didn’t check out) at I think it was Asda? it was like $75US and it was so much stuff. Our fruit and veg is cheap over here especially if we shop in season and at a good market. They have jumped up in price since Covid and Brexit so it does pay to shop around. Since retirement and weight loss I have made it my mission to find the best bargains. I get plenty of fresh air and exercise this way. Its a win win. BTW, I love your posts 2 Starwarsandcupcakes and GreenTealael reacted to this

Lilia_90 518 Posted October 6, 2024 (edited) So I get very very very hungry right before my period and the first few days of my cycle. It is so intense that I feel that there is a hole in my stomach where the food disappears 10 minutes after I’ve eaten. It is so weird and I have never experienced this pre WLS. I have clocked 1750 calories for 4 days straight and a whopping 120 grams of Protein because I can’t seem to get full. Then I just lose interest in eating for the rest of my cycle, anyone else experience this? Things I’ve eaten the past few days: Galore of burgers. Double smashed cheeseburgers, a classic burger, and a spicy crispy chicken burger. Maple buffalo shrimps Up close and personal on the spicy chicken burger. So hubby was quite taken aback at how much I ordered (knowing he’ll have to eat most of it, teaser: he did) I got excited to try everything (teaser: I didn’t). I hade around 3/4 of one half of the smash cheeseburger, and a bite of the spicy chicken burger which was soooo good but then I felt so sick and regretted eating that. Hubby ate most of the shrimps, his whole burger and my half. The rest was put in the fridge. There was also a large portion of fries which I didn’t taste. Lilia_90 518 Posted October 6, 2024 (edited) Things I’ve eaten: This beautiful egg sandwich with bacon, cheese and spicy mayo between perfectly toasted buttery brioche bread. I picked it up early in the morning but decided I didn’t want to eat it when I got home. Later at night fixed myself half of it with ketchup: A couple of bites in I decided I didn’t feel like eating the bread so picked out the bread and ate the insides of the entire sandwich. Here’s an after of the unfortunate bread (it was so good but too rich and filling): The next day I made 2 ribbon eggs with shallots, feta and pepper flakes. Ate it all with one Protein toast (who dis? The secret is taking one whole hour to eat it and eating soooo slowly) also it was after a strenuous hour of exercise ha! I thought I was the only one who turned into a ravenous hungry bear during that time of the month! I allow myself to eat more and I do not feel bad about it. I eat more Protein and nut butters by the spoonful. I also workout a lot so I don't care. If a lady wants to eat then i shall eat. 😂 3 Arabesque, Lilia_90 and GreenTealael reacted to this

They’re being evicted soon so 🤷♀️ hopefully I’ll have relief. Like today I had a Protein Shake (maybe?), a large frozen coffee, 1/3 of a gas station pizza thing (like a calzone but honestly awful), a grape Gummy, and 1/2 a serving of spicy carbonara ramen. 3 1 1 Arabesque, Lilia_90, GreenTealael and 2 others reacted to this
Starwarsandcupcakes 2,070 Posted October 7, 2024 Ok so the first weekend of every month (so people don’t assume I have $82 grocery bills all the time) I do the majority of bulk grocery purchases for that month. I ended up spending $482US after rebates. Not pictured is 5 cases of Water, 5 12pks Gatorade zero, a 20lb bag of rice, 4 6pks Pepsi zero, and 2 big bags of caramels that teens have claimed as their own. The last 4 pictures are Flashfood produce that was $15.75. Half of the plums will get the dehydrated treatment, half the peppers will get frozen, the dragon fruit and avocado cut and frozen for smoothies, and I might try my hand at preserved lemons. The very last picture is the yucky produce that was in the order. I usually don’t sweat a few things being bad as it’s usually such a good deal. 6 Tomo, summerseeker, ms.sss and 3 others reacted to this

Then I just lose interest in eating for the rest of my cycle, anyone else experience this? I used to be like this back in my fertile years (😉). I craved carbs and could eat a loaf of bread in one day. Sandwich after sandwich. I had to consciously stop myself. About year 2 after my surgery, & well into menopause, I’d get these random days where that carb craving for bread would hit me. I couldn’t do anything about it because bread sits so heavily in my tummy so I avoid it & I never buy it. Thank goodness there wasn’t any in my house. I doubt foamies or my restriction would have stopped me. LOL! You joining the hysterectomy club @Starwarsandcupcakes? I’m three weeks out since mine. Yesterday I was feeling pretty good. Even went to the theatre to see a contemporary dance production but today I’m wiped out. Even chose an afternoon session so I could have a little nap before I went. Also had a fun experience with alcohol hitting hard. Drank almost a 1/2 glass of Prosecco and as I took it into the theatre it hit me. Woozily climbed the steep stairs to my seat. Sat with a thump. The stage was moving (it wasn’t) then the electronic music began and lighting effects. OMG! It was not pleasant. Felt like I’d quickly downed a bottle & not sipped a bare 1/2 glass. Damn cheap theatre alcohol! 4 2 1 ms.sss, Lilia_90, Tomo and 4 others reacted to this

We can be hyster-sisters! 😂 My total is scheduled for Halloween unless one of my ovaries decides on gymnastics and moving it up before then (I’m looking at you, left ovary!). On a side note, today’s Breakfast was a single mini tootsie roll and prescription pain medicine. 1 2 GreenTealael, Arabesque and Spinoza reacted to this
