update: it made no difference (which i have come to expect over the years...the new norm is that i generally Do Not gain weight on vacay! yay!)

It is weird but I always come back from vacay having lost weight or pretty much stayed the same. I think it's because I don't weight train (lose a little muscle mass) and the insane amount of walking one usually does on vacations.

I wish more people had it. It’s a great tool for me. However, if you have a Whole Foods there’s a QR code in your Amazon app that lets you save more in their store on certain items.
Trader Joe’s is also a great option as well as local international stores for certain things.
Im guessing by the user name you live in FL. If you have a publix check out their weekly ads and shop based on that and digital coupons.

I know Kroger sends me coupons for stuff I buy often as does Meijer (Michigan, Ohio, Indiana based) which is mostly free or cheap produce or meat now so I’m sure other stores do the same.

oh no I live in CA, the most expensive state UGH! I do Whole Foods sometimes and Trader Joes. I go to the neighborhood Walmart and costco. Ill have to start couponing for sure

cantaloupe smoothie for lunch! (too lazy to make anything or even order out)

about 2 cupped cubed cantaloupe, 1 tbsp whole milk powder (i had no actual milk so it had to do), and a cup of ice blitzed in the blender.

yum!

Wow girlie this looks good! I wanted some ideas to do something with cantaloupes that was different! Almost 6 months out and some days I do not feel like eating and I don't. I no longer force food down some days I can fast all day for multiple days at a time, some days it's just Protein Shakes. This I will try soon! Without the food noise I can now listen to my body!

this is actually a good point that i want to add on to.

during weight loss phase, so long as your LABS are good and you FEEL good, i have the opinion that there is really no need to force yourself to eat if you just aren't feeling it. but ONLY of your labs are good!

DISCLAIMER: i am NOT a medical professional and am only expressing what worked for me. feel free to take or discard anything i say!

FOR BACKGROUND PURPOSES: i lost 110 lbs in 7 months to reach goal weight. i am now 6 years post op and have maintained BELOW goal weight this entire time. AND my labs have been "satisfactory" at every check up (the last one being Oct 2023...i have one coming up in a couple weeks and im going to assume it will also be uneventful cuz i feel great)

ok. so i love bacon. and i mean, i LOVE bacon. i buy it by the case from costco Business Store and add it to basically everything, and i save the rendered bacon fat and use it for frying stuff (don't judge me!!! lol)

anyway, the big ongoing debate at my house is "how cooked should bacon be"?

i like my bacon crispy (almost burnt! ha!), while Mr. like it less cooked and more chewy.

i often have to take out his bacon from the oven so i can continue cooking mine, geez.

see my preferred bacon doneness below.

so what are YOU? Team CRISPY? or Team CHEWY???

(me and Mr. shared this, not exactly sure how much i ate of it - probably 1/3 - but i did eat all the bacon, ha 😂 !)

7- there’s me, 1 under 1, and then kids from 9-19. So 12 egg cheese English muffins is only 2 breakfasts.

And there’s nothing wrong with expensive groceries. If I could afford real crab and dry aged steaks I’d definitely be eating those. Instead I just work with what I’ve got. What makes me jealous is the price at some stores in the UK. 😭 The one time I did I mock shop (virtual cart that I didn’t check out) at I think it was Asda? it was like $75US and it was so much stuff.

Our fruit and veg is cheap over here especially if we shop in season and at a good market. They have jumped up in price since Covid and Brexit so it does pay to shop around. Since retirement and weight loss I have made it my mission to find the best bargains. I get plenty of fresh air and exercise this way. Its a win win. BTW, I love your posts

If I’m cooking it I’m team crispy. If I’m not cooking it, I’m team bacon!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
