summerset 5,265 Posted November 6, 2022 Seitanmedaillons, Semmelknödel & Rotkraut. It matches the season. (Cleaning out the fridge, freezer and shelves again.) Usually a brown sauce belongs to this dish but I didn't have any so I did some fusion kitchen and used some hoisin sauce. I also had duck sauce available but after trying and not liking it I threw that one out. The medallions were made in the oven which made them a bit too dry but I was too lazy to pan fry. Not sure how I will dress up the four leftover ones. I also have three Knödel as leftovers. Maybe I'm simply opening a package of Rotkraut again, lol. 6 GreenTealael, Starwarsandcupcakes, Tomo and 3 others reacted to this
GreenTealael 25,444 Posted November 6, 2022 Totchoes (tater tot Nachos) This was someone else’s appetizer but I had about 10 and was too full to eat what I ordered (turkey burger) I really do forget sometimes that I cannot eat large portions until I eat out. Anyone else randomly forget about real world portion sizes? 6 sillykitty, Arabesque, Tomo and 3 others reacted to this

I usually just order one item (usually dessert if it’s less calories than a salad 🤣) and never even finish it. How I was conned into sharing an appetizer is beyond me. 3 Arabesque, Tomo and sillykitty reacted to this

Might be the different portion sizes in different countries but I don't really stick out with my portion sizes in public, depending on what I eat. We went to a restaurant lately and I had a main dish and a dessert. Granted, the evening was long so dessert was about an hour later than the main dish but anyway. 3 Arabesque, sillykitty and GreenTealael reacted to this

American portion sizes are certainly out of control. 1 Tomo reacted to this

You know, from my travels I don't find US portion sizes to be overly large comparatively. I felt the servings were generally large in Germany (although I've only been in Bavaria, and then into Austria). I'm currently in France. In traditional restaurants the portions maybe smaller, but 3 courses is the norm. In casual restaurants, single course meals, like salads, burgers, etc. the portions are the same IMO. I could do a photo dump, but I'd bore everyone, lol 1 GreenTealael reacted to this

summerset 5,265 Posted November 7, 2022 Inspired by the Pasta casserole the cafeteria at work had today. Since it wasn't vegan of course I was going: 😩 6 Tomo, ms.sss, GreenTealael and 3 others reacted to this

IDK, but I remember being in Italy more years ago then I want to admit and watching a little old couple devour a kilo Porterhouse steak and antipasti, and veggie sides and dessert 😳 1 GreenTealael reacted to this
