Mr. ended up going out tonight so no steak for me. Boo.

The Kid brought me home an order of Taco Bell’s Fries Supreme, which I poured some sirracha on and ate roughly 1/2 of.

Approximating 270 calories for what I ate.

P.S. Fries are filling!!

Congratulations on your tomatoes, you must be so proud of them 😍

I have a dozen or so potatoes with eyes that I’m considering planting. Wish me luck.

How are you doing by the way?

Doing better except for the complete breakdown during the end of church services where I choked my way through the final hymns. My dad was a big part of my religious upbringing and this was my first service after his passing so I knew it would be difficult.

More smoked salmon & Gorgonzola, this time sandwiched in a dinner roll with capers and some butter. Prefaced with a coffee martini (not shown)

409 calories for the drink + sandwich…ate/drank it all.

You can do it! Cheering you on!

So hard! Looking at the food on this thread though is giving me hope! There’s not one Protein Shake pictured! Light at the end of the tunnel! The sickening sweet Protein shake tunnel!

Yes it is very challenging at times and don’t let the ease displayed on the internet dissuade you. But you can do it!

When I had to drink the shakes, I always had to dilute them. Protein Shakes are a rarity for me these days (nearly 5yrs post op) and I’m not mad about that.

However I will add unflavored Protein Powder into home baked goods or smoothies (also rare). I can easily meet my Protein needs from food alone when I prioritize protein.

Oh no! It never really gets any easier but with time (and reflection) you may begin to grieve the loss less and Celebrate the memories more.
I’m still send sending my thoughts of peace your way ❤️

It does get better FD... WE PROMISE! Stay the course. Your rewards will be abundantly worth every stage (I liked the mocha and chocolate mint Premier Proteins) to normalcy as a healthier, happier, slimmer you! Go back to earlier pages on this thread to find stages that may be encouraging to you.

Totally unnecessary news, but last night I pooped y’all. 13 days, 2.4 lbs off the scale afterwards. Then i fell asleep afterwards from the effort. 🥹

Anyhoo, this morning i woke up STARVING (well for me) and fixed myself a rare before-noon meal.

I made bbq ribs for the fam last night (which I didn’t eat any of…see poop-sleep above), so I heated up some of the leftovers in a dinner roll with some BBQ Sauce. Oy my goodness, I make awesome ribs! Lololololzzz.

425 calories for the while slider, which i ate half of, so will update MFP to show 213 calories as Mr. ate the other half already.

To be honest I was worried about you, thanks for sharing I am glad you are ok. You may have a record or something.

Awww, thats sweet. Actually i tied my own record of 13 days i set back in 2019 after i had plastics.

Constipation has been a pretty regular issue for me since getting WLS (prior to that i used to go 2-3 times a DAY…yes, i know TMI lol). Couple that with my historical issue of not being able to go Number 2 anywhere but my own toilet at home, it was kinda expected. 🙄

In any case, my colon is clear again, thanks to 2 rounds of suppositories, and implementing the trusty pregnancy/labour breathing techniques during the deed!!! 😂😂😂😂😂

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
