OOOOooooooh that looks delicious (sans the croutons 😂)!

I haven't had a salad it what seems like for-eh-vah, as for some reason my costco has been out of romaine lettuce for AGES. Whats up with that?!!?

I may just bite the bullet and buy a ridiculously overpriced one at a regular grocery...which btw, has gone up in price as well! (I know its only a couple dollars, but it pains me, its the principle of it all !)

I thought I heard of a romaine recall for either E. Coli or Listeria but maybe I'm mistaken.

You don't like tiny toasted breads 😩?

Made an apple crumble cake (yes, me!) - came out fine. Adapted from recipes I saw on the web. Taste is super but the amount of dough they recommend is way too much for the amount of apples so when using the small glass pan I'm going to half the dough next time. With the big glass plan I'm going to double or triple the amount of apples.

Beautiful! What did you use instead of butter?

It's apple season so I also made deconstructed apple pie last night

(or apple pie dip https://cookiesandcups.com/apple-pie-dip/)

It was much more efficient than making a whole pie without a special occasion lingering.

chicken Avocado Salad
Another salad? Yes. I was overzealous when buying salad greens and accidentally bought a box that expired 10/15. However, they are organic and last a lot longer than their "best by..." date so I am determined to beat the clock in these.
I'm also logging consistently - likely because the Baritastic app is easy and doesn't expose my private information to cyberattacks (Under Armour/MFP ... thanks)

That's good to know about Under Armour/My Fitness Pal. Glad I stopped using it. I used it until a couple days ago. I had downloaded Baritastic a long time ago and never used it but I saw a lot of people on here did. I've been using it the past couple days and I love it. So much better and easier to use!

I received 3 emails in about 18 months of security breaches, that's when I stopped logging altogether. It may not have affected everyone but I get notifications was enough to tip the scale for me

Melted coconut oil.

The recipe I used called for a Protein Powder, a sweetener (I used vanilla Protein powder so I didn't need additional sweetener) coconut oil, oat flour, cinnamon and interestingly enough baking powder but I guess this can be omitted. Never saw "Streusel" made with baking powder and was surprised that there are recipes for "Streusel" that call for more than just flour, butter, sugar and maybe cinnamon.

The taste was good but I guess it needs a bit more coconut oil. The recipe said to use a bit of Water if it's too dry and I did use a bit of water but that didn't cut it. Maybe it depends on the type of powder one is using.

The original recipe was an "apple crumble" so I googled for a quick bottom that also uses oat flour. I ended up with a protein powder, dark almond butter and oat flour. This was quite good. The dark almond butter matched the cinnamon spiced apples just fine. I think cashew butter would be a good match as well.

Next time it will be a bit more coconut oil and more apple.

I add a bit of baking powder to ever cake dessert pastries that use flour (unless it's a yeast recipe or unleavened bread) as insurance.

Meh. I may have them with dip or pâté, though. But only because eating dip or pâté by itself is weird. 😂

Stuffed Pork Loin w/ gravy, sauteed onions & steamed broccoli: 219 calories

Ate it all and I'm uncomfortably full. Pork seems to always have this effect on me...but do I stop eating it? No. Geez.

(As I type this I think I may be in barf-territory....)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
