Brunch with The Kid:

Had I eaten the entire thing as shown, it would've logged in as xx734 caloriesxx **Correction: (forgot to add the bacon): 934 calories for the entire thing.

Estimated calories based on what I actually ate (i.e., the entire salad, 1 egg & 3/4 of a sausage, 1 tsp maple Syrup (not shown)) : 200 calories (took the rest home and it was promptly devoured by Mr.).

I love chicken pad Thai so much, but I haven't had it in months. I used to eat a full order in a sitting at least once a week. Last night i asked if they could replace the rice noodles with bean sprouts and ate 1/4th of an order (about 1 cup). My husband's full order is included for comparison. It was amazing! 20180724_191045.jpeg

The bean sprouts idea is excellent, thanks for that suggestion!

Container dannon light and fit Greek yogurt with 1 tsp slivered almonds, 1 tsp unsweetened coconut and 1/2 tsp cocoa nibs. Sometimes I get full 2/3 of the way through. This morning I ate the whole thing.

Thanks for sharing this! I much prefer getting a plain low fat greek yogurt to the pre-mixed fruit ones (although the "dessert" ones are such good sweet treats) and haven't branched out much for add-ins.

I’m happy that 2.5 years out I still have a significant amount of restriction. But sad that take out sushi just isn’t the same. 😭

I ❤️ wasabi. It feels like a competition of strength and fortitude when having sushi with friends

Right? Lol

The one with the thickest, greenest soy-wasabi sauce is the winner.

When you pretend to be healthy and order a salad, but it actually has more calories than your average burger 😂

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
