Last night’s dinner. Kind of boring. Grilled chicken thigh, which I just season with salt and pepper, and some roasted green Beans. I do some of these chicken thighs almost every week and take them to work for lunch. Simple and tasty.

Great minds think a like! We had convection bake roasted chicken thighs (marinated in fresh orange juice, olive oil, chili flakes) with corn + green Beans tonight. Leftovers will be great for lunch salads. Agree. Simple and tasty. ;]

Wasn’t planning on Breakfast other than a Protein Shake but got strong armed into it. Went with a Portuguese style tofu scramble: 2 planks of tofu, spinach, Tomato, jalapeño, and chorizo. Focused on the tofu, spinach and tomatoes with the occasional bite of chorizo.

Although I have a pretty substantial reserve of this bread I'm still rationing 😂

Joking. I have been doing this since the I started buying this bread. It's too thick for me to eat 2 slices in a sandwich so I only use 1, here's how:

Lightly toast both sides then cut with a sharp serrated knife

* I also added log into (which I never do anymore) to show what a zero *net* carb & 150 cal Breakfast sandwich looks like

I’ve been taking everyone’s temperature constantly for the past 24 hours, cuz its fun. The fam is annoyed with me, naturally.

Red lentil penne with some leftover Tomato sauce and cashewsan. The majority of the penne went into the dish pictured above.

I hate how much time food preparing needs. So this evening I cooked enough for several meals. Luckily I had everything I needed still at home. However, with the salad bar still closed the food at the cafeteria is not really what I'd call both healthy & satisfying (seems like it's either/or) and tomorrow I have another 24 h shift. Saturdays are usually the worst. Well, one can hope...

A little off topic, but I was at a diner for lunch and I ordered something I thought I might eat some off. After they came with the food they asked if I was sure I wanted a child portion. I did know it was child portion when I ordered 🤣🤣.

They gave me this huuuuuuge dish, i ate like 1/3 of it. So I confirm, we eat "child portions"😅😅

It was only like 7 euros for it, which is pretty cheap! And I have seen smaller portions servered in "adult" size meals for 4 times the price🤫

Well that’s the prettiest presentation of Diner food I have ever seen. Lol

Was it good?

salad lunch for today featuring cabbage slaw, dates, edamame, roasted turkey, green and red peppers with lemon olive oil dressing. This will last all weekend at ¼ servings each. Very fulfilling and satisfies that crunch! AND, my crunch to get a project deadline out. Yikes! No time for kitchen duty! Haha.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
