To stop my BF from eating my incredibly hard to find zero net carb bread, I made him a traditional loaf of onion chive white wheat. I hope this works 🤣

You're nicer than I am, I would have just hid the Zero Carb bread, or set up a booby trap 😂

bread with chives... 🤤

I didn't add enough chives 😭

And has anyone ever cooked with chive blossoms? I was nervous so I just let them dry out

It could be further healthified by using Fairife low or non fat milk and ground turkey (or ground meat veg substitute in your case @GreenTealael)

It was surprisingly good. I wasn't looking forward to a carbless casserole (blasphemy 😂), but actually had seconds for my "second dinner". (I know it's not carbless, but no added carbs, like rice or noodles)

Same here! And dumplings 🥟 but this was the bf’s craving this time. When I’m craving something I’ll usually try to find a healthier way to make whatever it is I want or have a bite or two.

A while back I was craving dumplings/gyozas like crazy so I found this recipe:

https://www.lowcarbingasian.com/keto-japanese-potstickers-gyoza/

Gyoza with soy paper! Maybe you can use the soy paper concept and make the filling more wonton like?

Ooh soy paper is a good idea. I've never had it before- is it kind of like tofu skin?

I've made this recipe in the past for wontons, and they come to about 30 calories each... most of which is in the wrapper. I'll have to check out the soy paper!

Making Asian/Asian inspired meals this week. Keeping it going with pork chive and cabbage dumplings. I ate 3 of the steamed and was pretty full. Didn’t touch the fried.

Thanks for this great recipe! I bought several cans of salmon but wasn't sure how to dress it up. This will be a great lunch today!

I tried tuna with mayo and boil eggs puree. Added himalayan salt. Tummy handled it. Will try adding other spices in near future and see how my tummy will handle it. My tummy handled kale, spinach, frozen berries, banana, Protein liquid. I drank this shake as one of my meal shake replacements. I will thicken it for each step ahead as well.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
