Cheeseburgh 3,080 Posted April 18, 2020 I love bucatini, I think it’s because one of my favorite things as a kid was Beef-a-Roni. (With Fritos on top) I was a thin child with an awful diet! Crud, now Beef a roni with Fritos sounds good. 2 1 GreenTealael, sillykitty and Sophie7713 reacted to this

No picture of tonight’s dinner because I forgot to take a picture. We had burgers and oven fries. *Heads up when ordering Instacart. They have to substitute a lot of items right now which is understandable. I ordered burger patties from costco which were sold out and replaced with a different box of burger patties. I was planning dinner and plugging the numbers into MFP... lo and behold one patty is 330 calories! No bun, no cheese just the meat and It wasn’t even that big. I had half a burger, since 330 is a lot for me considering I’m maintaining on 1300 a day, plus I REALLY wanted oven fries! It was a very good burger, fat=flavor is true with burgers. Anyway, be ready for substitutions! Whenever I travel to cities I try to eat the local specialties. I ate a lot of chicken & wild rice Soup and walleye in Minneapolis . I tried to survey my associates in each city for the "best" version. Lunds & Byerly was almost the universal answer for chicken & wild rice soup. So this is the recipe I used. I deviated by leaving out the swiss chard & thickening it with flour https://lundsandbyerlys.com/herbed-chicken-vegetable-wild-rice-soup/ Have you tried Walmart grocery pick up? It's pretty nice they just put it in you trunk for you. For the substitutions, you can choose to reject them, and they'll take them off when you arrive. Sometimes the substitutions are a win, for example I ordered 100 pk of Splenda, and they subbed w a 200 pk, and charged the 100 pk price. 2 Cheeseburgh and GreenTealael reacted to this
Cheeseburgh 3,080 Posted April 20, 2020 (edited) @sillykitty Thank you for that link, I will be making a version of that Soup once I buy some wild rice. I forwarded the recipe to my oldest son, we both love wild rice soup. btw, one ingredient I have found that makes a really subtle, but big difference in creamy Soups is dry white vermouth. Instacart has a swap agreement, but not for a better deal. I gave the ok for the swap, I didn’t look at the nutritional information when I did. I’m one of those people who refuses to shop at Walmart because they don’t provide benefits or decent pay. (Damn liberal) 😂 But I shop on Amazon, so I’m pretty much a hypocrite! Those were the days my friend... Even though we make chili with ground turkey in the instant pot now - It remains a little too rich for the tummy. I just eat out the flavored kidney Beans which is most satisfying less the Fritos of course, LOL! 3 FluffyChix, Cheeseburgh and GreenTealael reacted to this

I will definitely try it out this next weekend. Love all the fresh herb ingredients - Sounds just delish. We usually go to our small local markets every Sunday after 5:00pm before they close called Carmine's or Joseph's (they are cousins, but unfriendly rivals!). Would love to eat from their take-out and homemade soup bars... BUT loaded with salt, meat fats, high calories etc. appealing to the masses, unfortunately. Soooo here comes Suzy the Homemaker complete with her apron for the chicken vegetable and rice soup adventure. Stay tuned. Haha. 3 FluffyChix, Cheeseburgh and GreenTealael reacted to this

Sophie7713 3,326 Posted April 20, 2020 Here was Sunday's dinner last night. Carmine's grocer had some wonderful lollipop lamb chops on sale. And, a fab mint jelly... I say why not milk that favorite Easter dinner for all its worth. Right?! We usually roast a large bag of fresh green Beans that will last for a few more meals. 7 GreenTealael, sillykitty, MarvelGirl25 and 4 others reacted to this
