LOL, of course. The only other food whose importance rivals that of maple Syrup.

Ah yes! I totally forgot about montreal-style smoked meat (after Maple and Poutine).

Dude, all this food talk is making me legitimately hungry...

Absolute personal favourite place in Montreal (is actually 20 mins west of it): Smoked Meat Pete.

Absolute personal favourite place in Toronto (is actually in a suburb north-east of T.O. proper): Sumilicious.

I am truly HUNGRY reading this 🥴[emoji57][emoji3]
And I'm on the way to Texas for Thanksgiving! I won't be shocked if I find myself in an authentic Texan smokehouse looking for smoked meat![emoji28]

I got the rolls (hamburger buns). I thought the taste was pretty good, but very dense. However, super convenient and filling! And I didn't have a weight jump or an RH event which leads me to believe they are safe for me in maintenance!

Have fun on the road with PBJs!!! :D Sublandia...ha!

Australian with no idea here - is a plantain the same as a banana? I'm guessing not (hence the different name) but they look the same?

"Plantains are members of the banana family, but they are starchier and lower in sugar, which means that when they are ripe, they will still be green in color. If you get them when they are overripe, they may have started to turn yellow or black. While a banana makes a great, raw on-the-go-snack, plantains aren’t usually eaten raw because of the high starch content."

salad FAIL 😧

I ran out of salad greens so I just took whatever veggies where in the fridge (napa cabbage, pea shoots & carrots) and tossed em up with my vinaigrette. Well, turns out I don't like raw pea shoots, so I painstakingly picked them out one by one after the first bite.

Also, I tried to recreate that baked egg and avocado thing that @MarvelGirl25 posted a while back, and I guess I left in in the oven too long, as the yolk was disappointingly UN-runny. So that was banished to the edge of the plate as well.

*sigh* and I was so excited to eat it too :(.

No afters. I did take 3 hours to eat and drink this. Here's what it was:

Dinner: avo/tom salad + smashed roasted cauliflower with pan gravy + pan roasted turkey cutlets with crispy herbs + no sugar added cranberry chutney + roasted brussels sprouts in toasted garlic

After dinner Cocktail: low carb manhattan with orange bitters

Dessert: sugar free cheesecake millionaires with sf cherry preserves and whipped cream with Decaf coffee (not shown).

I've no idea how many calories. I didn't measure the ingredients to make my portion. :) <<<Drivin' the bus to hell...

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
