I love chicken pad Thai so much, but I haven't had it in months. I used to eat a full order in a sitting at least once a week. Last night i asked if they could replace the rice noodles with bean sprouts and ate 1/4th of an order (about 1 cup). My husband's full order is included for comparison. It was amazing! 20180724_191045.jpeg

So after two whole days of NO salad, I finally got my butt to costco for my haul of greens.

I was so excited to eat it, and didn't want to waste precious time by washing my regular salad bowl, I grabbed a huge mixing bowl instead. Ended up fixing myself the GINORMOUS salad below. I've gone through about 1/3 of it so far, and now I am taking a break to digest a little. I totally plan to dig back in if/when this full feeling goes away. *crosses fingers the full feeling goes away cuz i really, really, really, want to eat it*

Romaine Lettuce + Spring Mix + vinaigrette + 3.5 oz Grilled chicken + 1.7 oz apples #yum

Hi everyone! TGIF! I cant say that enough lol I woke up feeling great knowing its Friday and that my weekend starts today.

For lunch I made sopes (mexican dish:)) its basically a thick homemade tortilla with its edges slightly lifted with black Beans, grilled steak, lettuce, cotija cheese, and a red sauce made out of tomatoes and dry peppers. You cant really see it but I also added diced onions and made a green tomatillo, serrano & avocado sauce. Its buried underneath somewhere. I ate one sope minus the tortilla and the rest were for my bf. I'm going to try to find a recipe for a healthier version of the tortilla so that way I can actually eat it normally instead of just the toppings.

I've made the tortillas from this recipe, and I like them. :)

Edited to add: Ooopsies, I see you are still early in weight loss mode...these may be a little on high side calorie wise and carb wise...but could probably still be done...

Mr. always says my eyes are bigger than my stomach. I made another big salad (but not in that giant mixing bowl this time, though lol) with a bunch of fridge leftovers for today's first meal, and got through maybe 2/3 of it in an hour..the rest is gonna be for a snack later.

Salad greens w/ vinaigrette + 2.1 oz grilled chicken + 2.8 oz steak + asparagus + cauliflower mash + peaches + avocado

Meal prep for the bf again. I was gifted some tuna that was caught and canned by a family member. So between that and eggs being on sale, I was inspired 😂

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
