Are you trying to make me hurl? Lol read my post.

I do eat eggs, shrimp and white fish. I don’t stay full as long with those “softer” Proteins. But I could break up my dinner in 2 parts. I’ve never had chunks of tofu, the texture scares me.

Ooops. Clearly skimming is not my forte. Leave what you hate and pick the rest. ;)

You're welcome...

Thank you both @FluffyChix and @GreenTealael for your ideas.

Has anyone had the prepared Quinoa salad from costco?

Ok, so now I'm approaching the chaffel bandwagon. :) I love them made with egg whites rather than whole egg. No eggy aftertaste to contend with. I also used Daisy 2% cottage cheese as part of the cheese and added a spoon of Protein Powder to up the Protein even more and add to the crispness.

Even though I overcooked these (should have been closer to 4 mins rather than 5), the turkey club sandwich was the closest I've come to an honest to God sandwich since a year before surgery!

AND, go run and immediately buy these Twin Peaks Protein Puffs from Alex in the Bariatric Pal Store. Cuz I kid you not...the ingredients aren't crazy bad AND they taste and feel so much like miniature "cheesy poofs" aka UTZ cheeseballs that I feel like I should confess being bad. But the whole meal was less than 300cals and less than 8g net carbs, and had 37g of protein. Lemme repeat that in case you missed it...37g of protein. I feel like I'm yelling. Am I yelling?

I ate the whole damn thing. It wasn't really a trigger meal. But I absently continued to eat cuz it tasted so great and was so exciting to eat as a sandwich with cheesy poofs.

Can I just say, I heart the crap outta maintenance?

Here's the MFP info. The order of the macros is: cals; protein; fat; carb (whole); fiber; sugar

And here are the Twin Peaks Protein Puffs I ordered from Bariatric Pal Store. I'm so STOKED about these. TOTES worth the $25. Seriously. A serving size is 1 cup and there are 10 servings. But I only served 6g of protein puffs with my meal and it was PLENTY! These are not very sliderish cuz of the protein content. So I felt replete from them. So I should get about 50 servings per container. Bargain! (I love these enough, that I'm racing to leave a review and I rarely review things!) I can't wait to order the other flavors!

So this was a rather large dinner as I was trying to recuperate from a fast from Wednesday.
Shrimp, Water chestnuts, Shirataki noodles, and onions in a cream sauce and side dish of Asian sesame salad.
What the picture doesn’t show is that I added 2 scoops beef Bone Broth powder to the shrimp mixture to amp up the Protein.
Ate all but a couple of bites of the salad

I am SO sick of chicken, actually I’m sick of eating so much meat. I’ve hit a culinary wall.

I went through a 3+ month phase of wanting everything to be spicy, now even medium spicy is overwhelming to me. I’m such a picky eater, (texture & taste) it’s hard for me to think of alternative recipes and sources of Protein.

I won’t eat cheese, (except melted mozzarella mixed with something ) yogurt, mayo, avocado or sour cream to name a few. Cheeseburgh is a combo of being from Wisconsin (aka cheesehead) while I was living in Pittsburgh.

Anyone have ideas? Maybe lentils would be good.

Try cooking with Quorn - you can make spaghetti bolognese or shepherd's pie (just substitute what you want for the carb aspect... veggie noodles for Pasta and cauliflower mash for potato). Curry is good - doesn't have to be spicy. Korma's are lovely - try it with reduced fat coconut milk and skip the rice. There are lots of meat substitutes that are good out there... Gardein, boca, quorn, etc. All are pretty good for Protein.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
