This is lots of meals. I did food prep today. The veggies are just roasted broccolini, brussel sprouts, and some chestnut mushrooms. I coated them in olive oil, garlic, and salt. The meats are dry scallops, pan seared, prawns pan fried with cayenne, garlic, and chili powder, the salmon I cooked with my Sous vide and then VERY quickly pan seared it. The brown meat is duck. I made it a bit ago with my Sous vide, I just pan seared it and pulled it apart. OMG it is delectable. It and the salmon are very very tender and moist. The sauces I will put on whenever I feel like I want a smidge more flavor.

I’m freezing them flat and then putting them in ziplocks in the freezer so that I can grab a bit at a time for my lunches/dinners. I also have some frozen cauliflower risotto, etc. to mix things up. This should last me a couple of weeks.

I agree! I almost bought an airfryer...

Air fryers are AWESOME! We use ours constantly. I might have a weakness for gadgets, especially kitchen ones!

So worth it. Do it. We use ours more than anything else except the grill.

Falafel would be perfect for the airfryer!

Haven’t posted anything in a while because my food has been underwhelming. But today I ordered lunch from Panera- their new Summer strawberry Caprese salad. It’s really good. This is easily made at home I am sure but I just needed something quick. Half of a salad and this is after for now. I want to finish this today somehow but after about 6 bites I am stuffed :(

OMG, why have I never thought of making falafels in my airfryer? That sounds GREAT!

Some fantastic sirloin from the grill. Fed the last bite to my husband so I could eat a couple Brussels sprouts. Impressed myself with my ability to eyeball 2 ounces.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
