I forgot to take a before, but it basically had a few pieces of that chicken and a little more cucumbers/tomatoes. But the chicken (pictured in the pan was amaaazing)! It’s food cart (halal cart) style chicken, with s
White sauce (some concoction of Greek yogurt and spices) and a little Harissa over a salad.

Ooh I like the look of that. I might get some plain non fat not Greek yoghurt (so it's runny) to have a go at making a dressing like that.

The dressing was 1.25 cups plain whole milk Greek yogurt, two table spoons of mayo, a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar, a teaspoon of sugar (could probably use a sugar replacement, but I didn’t because it was so little), a teaspoon of salt, pepper, a little garlic powder, a teaspoon of rosemary, like 2 table spoons of tarragon, and a dash of tumeric.

I didn’t have dill weed so I used tarragon in the dressing. Really wished I had dill weed!

I have a recipe request for some kind of 'icing' for cake. My birthday is coming up and I have found a cake mix that is low sugar and high Protein, but I'd like to find something to top it with that isn't full of sugar. I can't have Gelatin, that's the only thing. If anyone has any ideas, that would be wonderful.

Found these two never tried or tested but coconut milk is a favorite vegan sub in my book ...

Thank you so much - I will look at those. I also just realised I could probably use lite coolwhip! I am basically going to make one cupcake... it's to deter me from ordering anything from the restaurant and to have something to stick a candle in hahaha. I am interested in seeing how much I can eat of it... I'll have to do a before and after!

So I always just look at everyone’s yummy foods. I never post because I am just so basic LOL and a creature of habit and meal prep for the most part. But today I thought what the heck I will let you see my mundane food ;) lunch I did not photograph. It was chicken casserole. I always use a small dessert plate and one of the pics shows a napkin beside it so you can see it’s not as big as it looks.

I had RNY in late January and have been able to eat regular food again for about a month. I rarely eat out anymore so I'm always surprised at how large the portions are. This was the Fit Fare veggie skillet from Denny's. 390 cals for the entire meal and kind of carb heavy due to the potatoes but this will last me for a few days. I'll add some grilled chicken during later meals for more Protein. 20190309_141841.jpeg 20190309_142725.jpeg

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
