Thanks for the recipe. What size pan did you use? And approximately how long did you bake it?

Rectangular cake pan - looks like 6x12, maybe 15 mins at 400 (I was in a rush) so 20 at 375? or until the toothpick is clean.

Protein brownies (for Breakfast subscriptions)

1 banana, 1 egg, 3tbsp chia seeds, 1tsp oil of your choice, 100g Protein Powder of your choice, 4 tbsp cacao powder, 2 tsp baking powder, dash of sugar sub of your choice, pinch of salt, *optional : nuts,1 tsp powdered psyllium husk (fiber)

the key to making this behave like there is flour in it is blending the egg banana Water mixture first, then add baking powder to the blender, lastly hand folding the rest of the ingredients in.

10 equal bars = 10 grams of Protein (cals may vary depending on individual ingredients used)

(Please no lawsuits for uneven protein distribution 😂)

@GreenTealael I set up to make these this morning but ... how much Water in that first stage? Missing from ingredient list and I suspect the amount is critical to the recipe!

Oh no, sorry I just saw this! Water will vary depending upon batter consistency. Usually just enough to get it "loose" enough, ( adding tsp by tsp as needed) I don't know how else to describe it. The thinker the batter the fudgier , the thinner the more cake like...

Sorry for the late response

More B/A! LOL.

My low carb version of McGriddler Breakfast Sandwich. I threw some cheese on just cuz I could...but honestly it didn't need it. :D

Recipe stats for a full sandwich plus 1oz grape tomatoes -- so it was less, cuz I didn't finish:

Breakfast: 264 cals; 25g protein; 13g fat; 9g carbs; 1g fiber; 2g nat OCC. sugar; 8g net carbs

Here's the recipe I used yesterday out of MFP. I made it up cuz we now think Mr. F. has a coconut allergy that makes his mouth swell. (BTW, the Protein Powder is the unflavored one).

But, honestly? The recipe for Mile High Silver Dollar pancakes (and the bake mix I created) are the best ever and worth the time of making them up and keeping the biscuit mix made up. But they might need to be adjusted to make them more bariatric friendly. Here's the link to them. http://fluffychixcook.com/mile-high-silver-dollar-pancakes-low-carb-gluten-free-options/

LOL, aren't you glad you asked? Ha. This is my old blog that I used to keep before my lymphedema got so bad. It was a low carb Keto blog, but many recipes would have to be modified to make them lower fat and bariatric friendly...but truly some of the best "bready" stuff on the net IMHO that was rich in fiber (prebiotic fibers and soluble fibers).

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
