Lisa K. 62 Posted July 20, 2018 My doctor prescribed Colace (docusate) to be taken twice per day for the first 10 days. It helped a lot. 1 Frustr8 reacted to this
allwet 868 Posted July 20, 2018 (edited) i had no problems with it. dont suffer needlessly then try to increase both Fiber and Water as you can. It is real hard right after surgery so just work on it and take the pills till you get there just realized you said 10 days never mind the fiber for now just work the water Edited July 20, 2018 by allwet 1 Frustr8 reacted to this
Linus 6 Posted July 21, 2018 I had Constipation bad after three months so my Dr told me to take Miralax and colace. Worked like a charm and I still take it on occasion. Don't take Ducolax every day, Miralax is ok to take as often as needed. Make sure you take fiber. 1 Frustr8 reacted to this
BurBur 113 Posted July 21, 2018 Adding my support to Miralax. This is so gross to say, but it seemed for a long while after surgery that every third day was a gross bathroom day. Ducolax is more violent on my guts than Miralax is, but both cleaned me out. Good luck! Oh and, this may just be me, but Knorr's chicken broth granules mixed in a warm cup of Water seemed to be a good fall back trick and while it is high in sodium, you probably won't be getting much salt for a bit so a cup of this now and then helped things to move believe it or not. 1 Frustr8 reacted to this
Letsgetgoing2018 448 Posted July 21, 2018 Thanks all. The ducolax and miralax combined finally helped me. Painful. I am now on colace twice a day.
