Me too!!! My surgery is scheduled for 8/3 but my surgeon still hasn’t gotten insurance approval. I hope they hear from them soon and we can carry on as planned.
Good luck to us tomorrow!

I have a slight headache but I get to eat food for dinner. What kind of restrictions are you on?

This is day 8 for me with my Pre Op diet. In the beginning my stomach protested vehemently against not getting any food! It took a few days for it to settle down. The smell of food kicks it into high gear and I have had to do a mind over matter type of thing. If you can imagine that broth you are drinking as your coffee, that sf Jello as something else you would rather have, it just may help you along. This has helped me. I hope that makes sense. STAY STRONG AND COMMITTED! REMEMBER YOUR WHY!

I’m on 4 Protein Shakes and a small meal. I too have had a Headache. The sugar free Jello and popsicles help.
I’m on a shake for Breakfast and a small fruit, same for lunch, and small meal for dinner. I wonder if I can have popsicles?? The day before surgery I’m on all Clear Liquids.< /p>

You should be able to have sugar free popsicles. It is a liquid. That as well as sf Jello. Both are liquids. This is what I have been told to eat.

@YoBL Yours sounds very similar to mine and I am allowed the Jello and popsicles. Couldn't hurt to ask. I would assume it would be the same as sugar free drink.

No one told me I could have the SF Jello and popsicles but I’m allowed to have them post op in the liquid phase. I just went ahead and assumed they were fine since they’re liquid and no sugar. 😊

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
