If you’re not taking pain meds it should be ok. Not long distance at first cause you do want to make sure you’re still moving around

How long did you wait after surgery to drive your vehicle? I am curious since I'm a Lyft driver. Surgery is on Monday. Would like some info. Thanks

Yeah the driving thing is all about the medication and less about the surgery itself. That said driving around after surgery sucks.... both of my surgeries I avoided the car for a good 2 weeks, avoided driving for 4 weeks total.

I wasn't given any restrictions on driving. I would say if your not given any be your own judge. If your off the pain meds and not feeling any dizzeness/lightheadedness your probably good to go. Take a quick trip in your neighborhood and see how you feel, the soreness may effect you. Just be cautious and good luck. Make that money!!!

Funny but I am 14 days post op and although I was given no restriction I havn't driven yet. My wife is a teacher so she is home for the summer. Without even thinking about it she has been driving everywhere. I don't think I would have an issue driving but sure is nice to have a chauffeur.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
