I know I am shooting for the stars but 6 pack ABS??

Recommended Posts

Since this is a forum for those that have reached their goal I was wondering if anyone here has taken their weight loss it to the next level? I would love to see anyone that has used the lap band to get done to 10% body fat (Men) or 14-18% body fat for women. Those are the body fat limits before you start seeing the lines in your abs get defined. I am spending $10,000 of my own money and my family is sacrificing for me to do it so I don't see failure as an option. Now defined abs are not mandatory for success of course but I thought I would shoot for the stars and see what I hit.

Hey, if that's what you want, go for it.

This may sound hypocritical after the goal weight debate but I couldnt be bothered attaining it or maintaining it - I have great admiration for anyone who can!

I think it's certainly possible, but a lot depends on how you carried your weight. I tend to be naturally thinner through the waist, and already have well-defined abs (not quite a six pack, though), at a BMI of 25. But, I have to be honest with you and say that you might not want to focus too heavily on having a wonderful tummy, because you'll still have scars and a lump where your port is located. I know some people can still pull off a two piece bathing suit (like Jachut!), but I'm gonna stick with a one-piece or tankini, even with pretty awesome abs.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
