Can we get a new BodyBugg Usewr Group Going?

Recommended Posts

Hello Guys and Girls,

I am a new member to this forum and I would like to first say thanks for users on this site for the great advice and feedback that they give for the newbies. What is most surprising is that it is 99% positive with out the attacking comments and negative vibe which is rare online.

With that being said I would like to start a new thread about the Bodybugg and the results you folks are seeing. I am not so worried about the price as I have already ordered one but how you guys are using it. Here are some questions that I would like to throw out there.

Is the bodybugg of any use for recently lap banded folks? I assume that I will always have a huge deficient considering that I will be eating ounces now instead of my usual measuring guideline of 1 or 2 plates.

Are you guys entering all your food that you are going to eat for the day in the morning and working against that number and is that where the display watch comes in handy?

I assume the program wants you to eat a larger amount of calories that you can possibly take in while being banded so does that throw off your numbers.

Thanks for the advice, I know that there are other bodybugg threads out there but after hundreds of post the original topic is usually long go and it is more of a chat group. Any advice of using this device would be helpful...

... just my opinion ...

info on the device is in the thread already ... it was more of a "what is this body bugg all about" towards the beginning.

not sure if anyone really wants to type out something they've already typed out before ...

Hey guys,

I am surprised/shocked at how many calories I burn in a 24 hour period without exercising. I am burning 2500-2800 calories in 24 hours of laying around, driving to work and other random task which have not included working out. I was so convinced that this was wrong that I called support to verify. I used an online calculator and it verified the number. I think process will be a real eye opener since I would have guessed that I was around 2000 calories a day intake. Those numbers don't make sense considering I am obese so we will see.

I would like to hear what other calorie burning numbers you guys are logging day to day. What numbers are you seeing right out of bed in the morning?

(Verified the answers were not in other post so please hold the "check the thread" postings

right out of bed in the morning I'm averaging 600-700 calories burned, that is at 6am, so only 6 hours into the day. I love my bugg. I've had it for almost 3 weeks and I still sleep with it.

My target to hit is 3250... which I mostly find to be fairly easy.

Suzzzie,

Thanks for the information and that really puts me at ease. I kept seeing my calorie burn go up and I wasn't really doing anything. I never thought I was burning 3000 calories without working out. I am shocked.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
