Yeah I most def am. I use Baritastic app and I usually do really good but today I just couldn’t get the thought of ice cream out of my head. I normally try to ignore it. I never cheated my pre op and my post op until now and I feel guilty. I think im just going to ask my boyfriend to throw it away when I leave to work. 😩☹️ the crazy thing is my stomach didn’t hurt at all and I was hoping it would sadly. I was hoping that I would feel some type of restriction...that’s what scares me the most.

Ice cream is a slider. You won't feel restriction. That's why it's so easy to over-indulge :(

I ate 2 multigrain corn chips (Food Should Taste Good Olive chips) yesterday. I am only 4 weeks out so this was a HUGE no-no. It did, however, completely satisfy the need to CRUNCH that had been growing for the last 4 weeks so while I won't repeat it, I don't really regret it. I chewed those chips into oblivion and they didn't hurt, at least!

@TaylorMade4One I'm not sure I feel the same way about Burger King's onion rings --or any onion rings for that matter-- but your post was hilarious from start to finish. I almost felt like I was riding shotgun with you while you were in that parking lot eating away sauceless and guilt-free.

So, that's a lot of bad stuff. My surgeon's PA grudgingly signed off on the diet soda. I also have a good friend who's a GI, and he's a lot easier to have real conversations with (vs. my surgeon), and he signed off on all of the above, as long as I promised to stop if I had any issues at all.

My surgeon told me that after I am done healing, nothing is off limits unless it causes me pain, I specifically asked about soda and he allows it. My Nutritionist hates it buuuuut I am for SURE going to have a coke zero in a few weeks haha.

I haven’t cheated at all food wise but have allowed myself much more alcohol than I should.

Nope, there are repercussions, dumping, stalling rebound eating, triggering bad habits. This is not a post to undermine the seriousness of following the rules or promote lawlessness , just to show that *Sometimes* SOMETIMES *sometimes* we don't get everything right, but there are repercussions... Because I ate cake and pie and birthday meals... I gained instead of lost. This is my losing phase. Have a short window then its done. My window is closing.

While you may get away with it, as my doctor says, it is a slippery slope. It does not take much to revert back to the old ways, especially if you are like me and use food as a coping mechanism.

This is sorta what I wanted to avoid. We all know the *potential* repercussions, even though there are studies that show that having some level of "cheat" actually HELPS diets, The point really of this page was to show that, we are human and that we do slip up and there isn't anything wrong with that...

Reverting to old habits isn't cheating, that's giving up, and that's what a little cheat here and there can actually prevent. What I believe was meant when one poster said "no repercussions" was that... that 1 cheat, didn't have any repercussions.

I personally don't feel that eating cake, pie, "birthday meals" ETC is "cheating"... cheating, to me, is a very limited, rare occasion when otherwise you would break. Several instances in a row... isn't cheating, it's reverting.

Again... in my opinion.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
