Yogurt n pudding is full liquids, right after you tolerate Protein Shakes - week 2-3, along with blended cream soups......then pureed, then mushy/minced/blended meat.

Go for high Protein yogurt like Siggi or something, pudding -meh- not all that nutritional, fun tasty but not high in protein. The name of the game is protein and liquid, rinse repeat.

Thanks. I’m tolerating my Protein Shakes now. Started day four as instructed. Can I try yogurt or pudding? I also was to try Bisque or creamed Soup.

On my program we aren’t allowed any of the full liquid nor purée foods. You may want to check with your team

Take a small spoon and just try one spoonful and wait - that is how you try each stage anyway....nothing with chunks of ANYTHING at 5 days. Bisque might be too spicey depending on what is in it.... Milk might bother you, it does some people, others not..

This is going to be very specific to your program and your surgeon. My program allowed yogurt/pudding type things as soon as we were drinking Water ok - so in the hospital on day 2. We went home on pureed food on day 3. Sounds like your program might be more conservative so check with them to be sure. Pick a yogurt that is high in Protein and low in sugar. And with pudding go with the sugar free variety - and consider making the instant sugar free and adding in some extra Protein Powder. These types of foods slip right through so be careful with your serving size too.

It depends on your plan, but I'm on full liquids and eating (somewhat diluted) cream Soups and pudding. I haven't tried yogurt just because I don't have any in the fridge!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
