peytonpenny 2 Posted July 13, 2018 Hi everyone! This is my first post and I’m feeling a little desperate. I am 8 months post op with the gastric sleeve. ( Almost 100 pounds down!!!) As soon as I started eating solids in January I would get some discomfort and pressure in my chest. Sometimes it would even feel like the food was coming back up my throat. Not painful but uncomfortable. It got slightly better but was still present at my six month post op appointment. The surgeon thought I might have some narrowing in my stomach, a stenosis, so he sent me to do a barium swallow. The radiologist didn’t see anything on the images but my surgeon thought he could see some narrowing. I did an EGD with balloon dilation a few weeks ago and my symptoms SLIGHTLY improved, but are still present. All that background to ask... has anyone experienced something similar? How can I still be having symptoms after this! I am terrified it is all in my head. It’s not painful, but I don’t want to live with it for the rest of my life. Does anyone else start to question their sanity after a while? Just me? Thought so. 🙄 1 logicwand reacted to this
logicwand 269 Posted July 17, 2018 (edited) I am 4 months post. Depending on the type of food I eat, I will still feel discomfort. I can't tolerate fried or fatty foods well anymore, so now I just avoid them. I've had much better luck with lean, healthy foods (but sometimes even healthy food doesn't agree with me LOL). What kind of foods are you eating? Edited July 17, 2018 by logicwand
