I think that if you are asking the question it can be real. I see someone once a week to discuss my challenges and it help keep me on course. In my humble opinion, depression after such a huge change in lifestyle is real. It surely couldn't hurt to follow up with a professional. The two of you can determine what course of action works best for you.

Hang in there.

What else is going on in your life? Do you feel that you haven't met anticipated goals? Are you taking your Vitamins? Depression can be an underlying condition that's part to pinpoint sometimes. Did you have any depression before your surgery? Are you taking any meds that might be causing you a problem?

You didn't provide much information, and your profile says very little about you as well.

It's well documented.

Yes I'm doing all the thing I should be. Just small stuff. Like when I went swimming I struggled. Just little things

You're not the only one going through this. Here's someone else on this forum experiencing a funk, too. I also feel down, but depression came with me before surgery. I take medication for it, not sure how much it helps.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
