Sadly she reached goal and left with an announcement that basically said those of us who were at goal and didn’t leave have no life. Ah well!

She left? Bummer.

If this is true, then what does it say for her? She had close to 5,000 posts in the span of 9 months. I'm at goal and in a few days will be celebrating my one year anniversary of my surgery. I intend to continue reading and posting as long as I can.

Thank You Danny Paul! We need your wisdom around here still! Don't selfishly desert us like someone I won't mention by name. Of course if she wasn't happy here.---- Bye Bye Felicia!

People leave out of various reasons. Some don't leave entirely but read and/or post only occasionally.

"Selfishness" might be one reason (in the sense of getting out what you can and then leave). However, there are various threads about veterans leaving and the reasons for leaving or posting only occasionally are very different.

She contends that anyone who stays “too long” has no life and should move on and stop considering themselves a Bariatric patient 🤷🏼‍♀️

I'm still kinda torn myself if I will continue to consider myself a patient after a certain amount of time vs a person who had surgery

Semantics.

Just don't know if I'll always identify deeply with it (I'll always have to let doctors know of course) ... Or if it was simply a part/stage/phase/in my life

Hopefully you won't identify deeply with it for the rest of your life. People are different and everyone's boat is rocked by something else but it always gives me the creeps when people relate to themselves as some kind of disease.

"I'm an alcoholic".

"I'm a diabetic".

'I'm a food addict".

"I'm a WLS patient".

___

Have you ever heard someone say "I'm a lymphomic" or "I'm a myocardial infarctionist"?

Active vs passive

My semantics was in regards to my own post. I don’t know the actual words she used, so my words may not encompass her precisely. That’s what I meant.

I don’t think anyone should judge until they’ve been there, which is precisely what she did. Before she even got to goal, laid out a judgement on vets on the board.
