Kind of ironic @MIZ60 believes @Creekimp13 is a bully.

"soul is ugly" "very rude queen of crappy carbs" "jump in and run your mouth. pure class"

So ... @Creekimp13 has strong opinions. That's great, where would this board be without them? She and I have disagreed. But you know what, we disagreed respectfully, because Creek's way wouldn't work for me, and my way wouldn't work for Creek, but you know what, it's works for each of us.

It is a simple fact that for most people, diets that limit the foods that you can eat do not work long term. Of course there are exceptions, but if these diets were easy to stick to, how many of us would have needed WLS? Just Google to see the research done on this.

BTW, I weigh the same as Creek, I'm 3 inches shorter, and I LOVE the way I look (in clothes) . Are you going to tell me I shouldn't?

Not sure if there is a point here but I believe every person should love the way they look no matter what but that is not always as easy as it sounds. If you are happy with yourself and your appearance that is all that matters and you should stay right where you are. For me, weight loss is much more about health and enjoying my life than how I look. I want to be as healthy as possible for as long as possible and I am amazed this is happening to me at age 60.

Creekimp13 is much more than strong opinions--she IS a bully.. She is convinced that her way is the only right way and constantly criticizes and denigrates others who do not eat like her calling them stupid names and predicting their failure. She has insulted and denigrated me and my profession while showing her self-satisfied ignorance and denigrated and insulted others on here, stating their diet caused all their health problems and saying we are all going to need a kidney transplant because we don't eat a crapload of carbs. I am not a "ketoevangelist" and have researched the difference between the various diets....one size does not fit all.

Someone who used stats of a professional male bodybuilder to justify her overweight BMI is just ridiculous. I do not care what she says she weighs or what she says she eats but there is no reason to be so nasty about it. I have not encountered anyone else on here that is so dismissive and disrespectful of others.

Great she has a couple of buddies to jump in here and defend her:rolleyes:

No. Read what I wrote again. I'm saying if people fail repeatedly on low cal and Keto they need better advice than "you need to do low cal and keto."

I absolutely agree that there is no "one size fits all" which is why the same advice over and over (even when linked to previous multiple failures) seems so tedious to me.

Yes when you read carefully I know that’s what you SAID. But people don’t always read carefully and skim so I wanted to clarify. I wanted to put it out there that low carb does work for many.

Some it doesn’t. I think there are people who regain from many camps and I honestly don’t think there are more of them from the low carb camp. I don’t have statistics but I would love to see any you know of. Posters on this board don’t present a balanced view of the population.

Of course we have to take your word for it since you never post any sort of a progress photo....I am glad you have such a high opinion of yourself. I think you are the most rude, judgmental and insecure person I have encountered on here and you have a deep need to bully others to help you feel better. You may feel beautiful but your soul is ugly.

Ummm wow.

How about we all just stop this thread before we go even further from “too far” .... we each have our own plan that works for us in this time frame. We need to support one another not compare one another or tear each other down.

This is in Rants and Raves, so I believe it is fair game. We're all big boys and girls here :)

I have nothing else to say and as such will not be responding to any further discussion. My remarks are solely based on my observations and direct experiences with Creekimp. I stand by everything I said and I am glad I said it. Glad she says she is leaving.

Jess,
your program still wants you to eat low carb 5 years out while in maintenance? How long will you stay that way? Can you give us an idea number and or menu wise what a typical day looks like for you? I hear a lot if varying info , a lot of people saying they will add carbs back once they are I'm maintenance... Is that not likely?
Thanks!

Different people have different plans and even for people with the same plan different things work.

I can’t eat a lot of carbs or I want more carbs. Plain and simple. My surgeon is OK with people adding carbs back in at goal IF they can maintain with them. I gain if I open the door too wide. You will have to figure what works for you.

For me it’s no bread, Pasta (except for chickpea or edamame pasta once a month or so) no potatoes (white or otherwise) no rice (white or otherwise). If I’m running 6+ miles I have have some fruit or oatmeal. I can sprinkle a tablespoon of cocoa nibs or unsweetened coconut on my yogurt or some berries.

But yeah, low carb. I have Beans or ancient grains maybe once or twice a week. A cookie or few bites of cake or a couple of French fries a couple times a month. I’m not that rigid but they aren’t a regular part of my diet. I didn’t “add them back in” they are a very once in a while treat.

Oh and I don’t miss the carbs and am careful to get enough Fiber, so I just don’t see why I would add them back in.

Don't you think you undermine your message that you think Creek is a bully, when you say the things you have in this thread?

I participated in the thread you are referring to. I didn't read Creek's comments in the same way you did. It's my belief that @FluffyChix can dish it out, but can't take it. She doesn't hesitate to put her opinions out there, but when she is challenged she picks up her toys and goes home. Just my opinion.

I'm not done losing, I look forward to looking good naked as well as clothed :P (And vanity is one of my main drivers to have had WLS)

And for the record, Creek and I are not buddies and have had no interactions beyond can be read on this public forum.

Thanks, Got it ! So not necessarily the macro count, but the food type? I'm not allowed most of the same items either on my plan, probably never will regularly again. I do eat legumes, vegetables, some fruit and some seeds, everything I will ever eat is already back in my diet.

I wonder heavily about regain, I don't see many who eat like me, @Creekimp's diet is similar, a lot of people seem to eat just animal Protein and diary, also a lot of the VETS are either not around /not social or struggling with regain themselves so I'm grateful that you are willing & able to answer my questions.

Yes exactly. I rarely count my macros anymore.  I do eat a LOT of dairy and animal Protein though.  It’s probably the bulk of my diet.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
