jbrizz 5 Posted July 9, 2018 So I was going to get surgery in mexico last year but had to bail on the idea because of some things that happened within my family. I contacted the Bariatric Hospital MX and had approval for the surgery but I'm not sure if im jumping the gun in the process. Can anyone share with me there experience and how they handled it start to finish as far as what if anything they involved there PCP doc in the process, Work leave, Short term disability. I am an Automotive Shop Foreman for a living and I have this irrational fear of being away from my job for a month +. Trying to figure out how to handle all of this is what is stopping me from moving forward at this point and I need all the help I can get. Thanks.
macadamia 591 Posted July 9, 2018 (edited) I see you were going to get the procedure done in Mexico - does that mean you have already tried to get it approved through insurance? Since I am still pre-op, I'll let others chime in on the rest. Good luck with your journey and I wish you well. jbrizz 5 Posted July 9, 2018 Thank you for your reply macadamia. Unfortunately my insurance does not cover weight loss surgery. This is the reason for going to mexico and im just not sure of how to handle this with my PCP being that I will need a release from work for HR purposes. Have others had luck with there PCP providing this?

Have others had luck with there PCP providing this? I got it now... I did not mean to waste your time with a long diatribe about my plight. I should have asked the last question first. I have edited my post accordingly.
