kimalicious 5 Posted January 19, 2005 chili dogs from junior high school lunchroom sweet and sour chicken from Chi's Wok tuna salad from my friend's Nanny's kitchen fried pickles with ranch from The Steak Co. fried chicken sandwich from Denny's chips and hot sauce from Don Pablo's fried potatoes with green peppers from Hotel in Waikiki Here is my list of things that I wanted to eat today and have been craving since yesterday and have not eaten. I am on liquids for 2 weeks because I had a fill and want to make the best of the 3 days of liquids they put you on. It felt better to write them down. I sit right by the break room at work and can smell everything that is cooked. It made me feel a little better to write it down. Anyone else have some cravings?? Iluvharleys 15 Posted January 19, 2005 Kim - You said 2 weeks of liquids after a fill? Wow, that is a long time. My doctor only requires liquids the day of the fill. Are you sure he didn't say 2 days? I guess I just haven't heard of two weeks. Great job of staying away from all that stuff!
Iluvharleys 15 Posted January 19, 2005 After re-reading your post I guess you are putting yourself on liquids for that long, Sorry, I misread your post!
kimalicious 5 Posted January 19, 2005 Yeah, the doc recommends 3 days but I thought I would kick start my weightloss like the beginning again. I find my cravings go away after a week or so. I know it's not as healthy as can be. But, I am drinking my Protein Shakes and getting plenty of liquids in. I just have to get past these cravings they are killing me!! leatha_g 4 Posted January 19, 2005 You poor thing. lol, Frito Pie has been the thorn in my side, too. You're doing great!!
DeLarla 22 Posted January 19, 2005 My mouth started watering till I got to the deep-fried pickles. Someone once accidentally served our table deep-fried pickles and we all gagged (we ordered deep fried zuccini.) Bad experience, bad, bad... we thought we were eating rotten zuccini. Must be a southern thing?
MeganA 35 Posted January 19, 2005 When I was on liquids I got the weirdest cravings for pizza and spagetti. Then I discovered that cambells Soup at hand has a pizza flavored soup...It really helped me work through some of the cravings. Now I find myself watching the food Network and reading cookbooks like they are romance novels. I'm in love with food and the idea of cooking these grandious things that I know I would take three bites of and be done with. Isn't that weird? kimalicious 5 Posted January 19, 2005 I have the same problem...so true about the love novels. You would think the food network is porn in my household as much as I love watching it and wondering what the stuff would taste like. Deep fried pickles is definately southern. I can't get enough of them. Mostly, I can't get enough of anything deep fried! HA!
New Hope 37 Posted January 19, 2005 Ooh, I haven't had any fried green tomatoes or fried okra since banding. Kim, you've got me started. Do find yourself also looking at the kitchen gadgets to see what new thing you need to add to that cluttered kitchen drawer?
Iluvharleys 15 Posted January 19, 2005 Marie - Be quiet! Fried green tomatoes and fried okra! Give me a plate full of that and I will be nice for a week! Those are two of my very favorite! What time is supper?
DeLarla 22 Posted January 19, 2005 I craved asparagus and brussell sprouts, so there's more proof I belong on another planet. When is the next space ship out of here?
kimalicious 5 Posted January 19, 2005 Delarla only if it is not deep fried!
Iluvharleys 15 Posted January 19, 2005 Kelly you don't know what your missing. Although you must have them cooked southern style, that northern cooking of southern food just don't do it justice.
blossom 2 Posted January 19, 2005 OMG!!! Don't ever try southern cooking up north. It just doesn't work!!! On Sunday, I made Beans and cornbread with pickled okra on the side. YUM!!!
DeLarla 22 Posted January 19, 2005 So far none of this sounds good at all... but tell me what Frito Pie is and I might change my mind.
